Chimera's almost here!

Here is the email that was sent earlier today to everyone registered for Chimera:

Hey everyone,

This is it! Chimera, New Zealand’s first larping convention, is on this weekend, and we’re looking forward to seeing you all there. Here’s just a couple of quick reminders for the weekend:

Meet and Greet
On Friday night from 7:30pm, all registrants of Chimera are invited to the opening social event, where you can meet, mingle and catch up with everyone that’s coming. Since we have a very wide range of people coming to Chimera, this is an excellent opportunity to meet some new people and get to know the folks you’ll be larping with all weekend.

Food
Steve Shipway will be providing on site catering for the event. He will be providing a cooked breakfast for $5 both Saturday and Sunday, lunch and dinner for $7 each on Saturday, as well as having a selection of soft drinks and snacks available the whole weekend.

Photographer
A professional photographer has kindly volunteered her services for the weekend, and she will be taking photos throughout the event. These photos will be available online after Chimera. In addition, she is offering professional prints of character portraits from Flight of the Hindenburg for a fee of $5 per print to cover printing and equipment costs.

Personal cameras are still welcome at Chimera.

No Eftpos
Please note that there will be no eftpos available at Chimera, please make sure to bring cash with you.

Bring friends!
And it’s still not too late to bring your friends. If you know someone that wants to come along, get them to register and choose their games via our website.

That’s it for now, and if you have any questions at all about this weekend, feel free to email us at chimera@nzlarps.org, we’re happy to field all queries.

See you all at Chimera!

Will there be costume change time before the horror larps or will the meet and greet be in costume for those?

The meet and greet is super casual, so you can nip off and change whenever you feel like. The horror larps kick off about 9pm.

Just to remind people - if you’re planning to buy food or snacks from me, then bring cash, preferably smaller denominations, as I can’t accept EFTPOS or cheques, and change may be in short supply.

The ‘all weekend’ food ticket (b/l/d/b+can) is $23, plus an extra $7 for food during Serenity (but you get an extra free can if you book it all at once). Crisps are 50c and chocolate bars are $1.50 (or $3 for the big ones). Cans are $1.
