I need a sash that would go with this coat. Its already quite a dark red (comes out brighter in pictures) and already has some gold on it. Anna and jadikel, do you think either of your sashes would go? Thanks for your help!

Now I’ve finished writing, I can work on the final two items on my list (to go in my second suitcase). A Cape, and a Cane. Hmm…
It’s not quite the same colour gold, but I don’t think it would clash horribly. I will pack it anyway. 
Here’s my list. Bear in mind that I have been in the USA for the last 3 weeks so had to try to get stuff done before I left.
Fri pm. Normal type clothed plus props
Sat am. Red pants (made before I left) black top (made) sword (bought in US) borrowing gourd from Derek ( thanks) Need a belt hanger fir the sword. And Jackie is making a helmet for me. (Thanks!)
Sat pm. Suit and stuff.
Flagship. Found an amazing coat in the USA. With everything else I think that my Gordian Knot costume will be great.
Sun am. Hired some pretty good stuff from First Scene. (BTW, any one else in Auckland returning stuff there on Monday that could take it back for me?)
Sun Pm pretty much NPCing so that’s all good.

Right, all of my costumes are done, save Gordian Knot. At 7pm I flung open my closet and begged for inspiration.
And found it.
If I can pull this off in the matter of HOURS of free time I have before the con it should look … well… sparkly. 
Dunno about good, but certainly sparkly.
Jackie, for your character, sparkly is good. 
All packed! (Except for the toothbrush and jammies, and attaching a sleeping bag to my suitcase by some arcane method.)

ok day of con, double checking costume:
Friday PM - morden, kinda slutty. i hate to say i pulled this out from my own wardrobe no shopping required =/
Saturday AM - Scientist, i am a biomed student at uni, i think i got this covered =D
Saturday Midday - Modern formal, i brought a dress…
Saturday PM - hair spray, overalls (borrowed yusss), tshirt, make-up and hopefully thats really it =S
Sunday AM - NPC FTW
Sunday PM - Corset (arrived thursday!!!) wig (need to buy) eyelashes (need to buy) and a crazy personality (never needed to buy)

Right, good idea.
Friday: Modern dress - sorted. Have a few “would be nice to have” props to make if time allows, but not critical
Saturday AM: Sorted, just need to print out makeup ideas
Sat Arvo: Sorted, save for rolling pin which needs one more layer of latex. Oops.
Saturday PM: Done! 4 hour costume including making a dress and modifying a jacket and making a headthingy. Just need some shoes.
Sunday AM: Crew FTW! Have an assortment of cossies.
Sunday Arvo: Done - save for 1 more combat-related prop. Brand new costume top to tail.
What’s left - figuring out what to pack, makeup, accessories, etc … and all the other bits and bobs I’m bringing for others.
i think someone should invest in baby wipes for quick make-up removal. i have some but i dont think i have enough for everyone, just putting it out there, if you still have time, it may be a good idea
The Chimera Team is doing another supermarket trip before heading to the venue, we’ll try and remember to grab some as well.
