Charity Book Fair

Every year, several major charities use donations of secondhand books to hold book fairs for the public. This weekend is the Variety Annual Monster Book Fair - book lovers should go along, heaps and heaps of books all going for miniscule amounts and the money goes to charity.

Alexandra Park Function Centre
Friday 28th July 6pm - 9pm, $10 entry
Saturday 29th July, 8am - 4pm, free entry
Sunday 30th July, 8am - 4pm, free entry.

Go along, lots of dusty, booktastic fun.

Things like this is where you can pick up some REALLY old books.

I now have a 1880’s “Housewives Companion” with recipies, patterns, and Hymns in it, along with occasional music, that I can’t read, let alone play! It’s awesome!

Go along, and pick up some Nightmare Circle props!

:open_mouth: spooky hypnotic stare Now go, my NewlyLoyal Minions

Yeah, the old stuff is the best. Last book fair I picked up these 1950s pocket nursing textbooks and a “Rules and Manners of Good Society” written by “A Member of the Aristocracy”. It’s hilarious, and deadly serious, not a pisstake. I bring it with me to Nightmare Circle every game

I found a few neat things last night. I got another couple of 100+ year old books and something called “The Cyanide Cookbook” (no idea what it is, but the title itself is hilarious) and “Facism for Beginners” (which is actually a history textbook rather than how-to guide)

These fairs are like a glorious, $2 a piece treasure hunt.
