More sharing of thoughts.
So below is my recent philosophy on how I see character experience developing. Now I don’t see this as particularly unique, new or special but I am interested in the thoughts of others on this kind of philosophy.
Jared’s Philosophy #4583
The prime concept or mission or goal or thing behind larp is that of engaged and immersive character role-playing. It is about the experience and living the unfolding story with the realisation that this isn’t only their story but one for everyone who is involved.
Participants will do their utmost to live up to the spirit game and even if they don’t remember the rule. It is expected that when carrying out actions such as swinging a sword; they treat it like they were swinging a piece of steel rather than a foam rubber prop.
So goes for all of their actions, they should be meaningful, not just mechanically following or playing to the ‘rules’ because it is not about winning or leveling up but the experience we all contribute to.
