  • Yes
  • No, prefer to provide own food

OK, so it seems that I’m organising catering.

This is the current plan (subject to change after more research):

The food would be provided in the Keep Hall all times apart from Sunday Lunch which would be in the long hall. Between meals, snacks (cans, chocolate, crisps) would be available from Keep Room 1.

5 Cooked Meals provided.

Sat AM: Breakfast (8am-10am): Pancakes (with syrup or jam), Tea/Coffee

Sat PM: Lunch (1pm-3pm): Bowl of boiled meat&veg dumplings (jaozi) with garlic & soy sauce

Sat Eve: Dinner (6pm-8pm): Stirfry meat&veg noodles

Sun AM: Breakfast (8am-10am): Pancakes, Tea/Coffee

Sun PM: Lunch (Noon-2pm): Pizza slices (veg option available)
Note that the game running in the Keep during this time (Serenity) is possibly providing food for players as part of the fee (to be confirmed).

Provisionally, Breakfast would be $5 and lunch/dinner $7 for casual diners. Buying prepaid tickets for all 5 meals in advance (Friday night, Sat breakfast) would cost $35 and include two free canned drinks, so technically saving $4 (as drinks would probably be sold for $1.50). Buying tickets would guarantee you a portion (even in a takeout box if necessary) else it would be until supply runs out.

We’d be selling things like choc bars at $2, cans for $1.50 (maybe $1, have to check supply) in the meantime.

For Saturday lunch/dinner there may be a veg option if there is sufficient advance interest in providing one - its not financially viable if the numbers are too small.

Serenity players could possibly order pizza delivery for lunch in-character during the game (to be confirmed)

Please give some feedback as to opinions. Too expensive? Not interested? Don’t like Chinese food? Etc.

[edited to make corrections for Sunday lunch arrangements after feedback]

The game running on Sunday that is providing Lunch, is Serenity, not 2014.

Ah Mr shipway, i believe my exact words were I might consider it if funds allow, when my might become a definite, because this has not been formally discussed with me.

OK, sorry for mixing up 2014 and Serenity.

So - for the Sunday lunch, can you tell me if players have food included or if you will give a 1-hr break for food?

Alternatively, we could arrange something in-character with pizza delivery and ordering (if we’re doing pizza slices for lunch) which would work out? PM me if you’d be interested in doing that.

Okay now that the required discussions have occurred

Serenity: state of the union will provide a sausage sizzle, bread and hash browns (gotta love ol’ grants cooking) for the Serenity players. this will be served in game at the stand, and we will continue to game as its served.

hope that clears up the mystery of the amorphous luncheon.

OK, so no need for me to cater for much on Sunday lunchtime. Also, I will need to do a different deal of bkfst/lnch/dinn/bkfst (skip sun lunch) for Sereniters, probably at a cost of $28 or so.

I should be there on Friday night, selling food tickets and snacks. So, if you want to reserve your breakfast and get a prepay discount on the meals, see me then,

Anna - can you update the Chimera website to indicate that there will be onsite catering, and in the Timetable give breakfast times as 8am-10am Sat and Sun, Sunday lunch time 1pm-2pm.

Also Friday night will be pre-book your meals time.

I can write up a few paragraphs info if you’d like?

Yes - if you could include what would be available, when, where, and for how much, that would be excellent. Please also specify whether vegetarian/vegan options are available.

I will need to know

  1. what time does chimera run on Friday night? 6pm-9pm ok for snacks and selling meal tickets?
  2. Can I use the keep hall kitchen Fri night? Or a desk in the other hall? Or a room in the other hall? Or keep bedroom #1?

Veg option will be available but should be notified as far in advance as possible, and it cannot be guaranteed unless pre-ordered. Cannot guanantee anything to be vegan.

Current times and locations:
Fri evening snacks and tickets: 6pm-9pm: TBC
Sat breakfast and tickets: 8am-10am: keep hall
Sat lunch: 12noon - 2pm: keep hall
Sat dinner: 5pm - 7pm: keep hall
Sun breakfast: 8am-10am: keep hall
Sun lunch: 12noon - 2pm: long hall
Other times, snacks available from Keep Room 1.

Current menu looks like:
Sat breakfast - american pancackes + tea/coffee
Sat lunch - jaotze dumplings (probably pork) (veg available)
Sat dinner - chilli concarne w/carrots (chilli contofu also available)
Sun Breakfast - american pancakes + tea/coffee
Sun lunch - pizza slices (up to 4 each), (veg available)

Costs are still TBA but likely to be
breakfast : $5
lunch: $7
dinner: $7
coke etc: $1
choccy bars: $2?
weekend ticket (5 meals + 2cans): $30 (save $3)
serentity weekend ticket (4 meals + can): $22 (save $3)

I’ll write it all up properly though. Please comment if you want to…

Prices might come down if we find out that you have 30+ people sleeping on site and 50 tickets sold…!

sorry for the late notice, but I will be providing a small meal for my players as well. This s due to the dinner party atmosphere of the game. It would just be mean not to have an actual dinner. but being a bit cheap, it will only be simple really.

I wonder if there will be people there who will just go from food providing game to the next food providing game. thats just insidious really.

Most games will not be providing food - as I understand it, the Nightmare Circle food will be mostly for the sake of having an IC dinner.

Though come to think of it, Nightmare Circle won’t even remotely clash with Steve’s catering - it’s running in the Friday night Horror slot.

Chimera kicks off 7:30pm, though there will be crew on hand from about 6pm setting up and possibly taking late registrations.

You can use the kitchen until 9:30pm, then it will host a game.
