Capture the flag larp

After much thought and remembering the thesis I have to write =S
I have decided to put my sepulturum idea to rest for a while and get an easier faster paced larp down.
Was thinking I could do a “capture the flag” style larp.
Would involve similar rules to capture the flag but defending being larp combat based, and rather than players being taken prisoner the are “incapacitated” or killed to respawn at base.

I have the rules already (just not as a pdf) I will post to update later.
Just want to see if there is any interest?

Sounds good to me, I’d be keen  One consideration of combat-oriented larps is what happens when someone is killed or incapacitated. There are two possible approaches:

  • Keep the games short so it doesn’t matter if you are taken out (this is how we handle it in Skirmish)
    or
  • Make it easy to re-spawn (possible, but unlikely in Skirmish)

Also, consider a magik system to enable those that are not naturally adept at combat. In addition magik increases tactical possibilities, which, in turn, makes the game more interesting overall.

I would Play!!!

oh, so Warsong Gulch then?

I think respawns are a must. I give players the options to “die” and respawn at base or fall over incapacitated to which they can be helped up by a team mate. The later obviously gives you the advantage of ground covered but you could end up lying there for a while (unitl you bleed out)

I think for magic I would like to keep the number of spells low so that we don’t publish a university size text book for everyone to remember, but I will keep some magic in the game so its not all about strength and how fast gaffi can run…

I am unfamiliar with this, is it practically my idea but done before?

Sorta, but different format.
Warsong Gulch is a 10v10 pvp battleground in World of Warcraft.

And thats not to say that the idea isn’t good for a larp version. I know I’d be happy to play, as I imagine any of our combat inclined larpers would.

Will upload version 1.0 of the rules under a new topic "Raids at dusk"
please comment

EDIT: will probably add it here too
