Camelot published

Over two years after starting writing it, I’ve finally got The Black Hart of Camelot published:

rpgnow.com/product_info.php? … s_id=84859

Quite satisfying! Big thanks to Jackie for her editing, graphic design and image sourcing, Steph for proofreading the whole thing and providing copious notes, Judit for allowing me to use her photos, photo subjects for letting me use them too, Scott for giving me feedback from his run in Wellington, and all the players who provided feedback too - I tried to encorporate it all in the final version.

If folks who have played (or run) the game would like to post reviews of it on the RPGNow.com page above, you’re more than welcome.

The game is free to members of NZLARPS. If you’d like a copy, send me an email at ryanpaddynz@gmail.com and I’ll tell you where to download it.

Cheers,

Ryan

Congratulations!! Well done  I’ll start pimping this to my larp friends around the world.

just had a look at the sample copy now, it looks very cool. i love the pictures where did they come from?

Jackie sourced them from a commercial image library, a very nice find. Unfortunately I don’t know anything more about them, we seem to have lost the location of the image library.

Woo! Camelot had it’s first sale overnight, to someone in France.

It’s the first time anyone’s paid for something I’ve written, quite exciting.

Congratulations, you’re now a professional author.

Yeah, sorry Ryan. I lost the images when my computer was stolen during this year’s break-in at my place. :frowning:

I’m pretty sure I sourced them from clipart.com.

And congrats on your sale. I wonder if you might also quickly get in touch with these guys and offer to donate your work to the charity bundle that’s going out - might get you a lot of exposure: rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_i … s_id=84741

Cool, yes I can see them on there. Thanks!

I’ve just had a look at this and I’m very very impressed with the quality. You’ve done an amazing job on this.

Thanks Derek.

You might also want to think about doing this any othr larps on their list you’ve read or played:

Just heard from Belinda Kelly, who is running The Black Hart of Camelot at SYDCON in October:

sydcon.info/index.php?module … game_id=15

This is definitely the nicest thing about publishing a game, seeing it re-run for audiences you could otherwise never reach.

Looks like The Black Hart of Camelot is going to be run three times in August at GenCon 2013, which I think is the world’s biggest gaming con:

EDIT to give better link.

Congratulations, Ryan. that’s really awesome!!!

Yeah it’s a real kick when people run your games.

Really must get around to publishing the other ones I’ve written.
