Calling all South Island larpers!

Are there ANY active larpers down here in Christchurch? There has been no recent postings for the Christchurch centre -am I alone and in the boat of having to resort to World of Warcraft (god forbid)? :confused:

You could try PMing Rasker. He has been trying to get the larp thing off the ground down there, but it has been an up hill battle for him, and I think he might have given up for now. He just dosnt have the support, and people are to unmotivated. Its sad really, he has a lot to offer, and if he could just get some loyal followers in the community down there he might be able to do something with it. or even try emailing him, he might reply.

Yeah southern mordavia looked promising.

Besides that … if you have one or 2 other people (or get together with the chch roleplayers) there you could always commute for the cap-con larps in our wonderful windy capital (as some aucklanders do) … but that doesn’t help for more regular larps

Thanks guys, I think I’ll try both your suggestions. I think it’d be fantastic to get a stronger following of LARPing in the South Island -just imagine how wicked a Saint Wolfgang’s could be with larpers from the whole country :wink: Some mates down here are into role-playing games, but Shadowrun isn’t exactly what I had in mind. Does anyone know what Call of Cthulu is? A friend of mine mentioned it being here in Christchurch

Call of Cthulhu is a horror roleplaying game based on the writings of H P Lovecraft. It’s usually less vampires and werewolves, more bizarre cosmic horror from space. But it can inlcude more conventional horror like hauntings too.

There’s a larp version called Cthulhu Live. It used symbolic rules for resolution, not foam weapons. They might be using that (or an earlier edition), or their own rules. Then again, they might be playing it tabletop not live.

Let us know if you do track them down and it’s a larp, would be nice to add them to the larp guide.

Your Shadowrun mates might be willing to try other genres.

Cthulhu = Horror

Lovecraft is the Grandfather of Horror and Roel is his lovechild on some unspeakable monster.

Chimera just had another fantastic Nightmare Circle game. I killed my Father in law, my wife, myself, my husband and my son in law (figure that one out…)
