Booking Systems

As a newbie, one of the hardest things I have found is knowing what games are on, which have spaces and if it is part of an ongoing campaign.

With this in mind I have thrown together a website and installed some Event registrations software. The idea being GM’s can create events and then people can register for them online. At any point people can see what games are available and how many spaces there are.

However, while I have a server and a little knowledge I am looking for 1-2 people either technically savvy or with good design skills to work with me to get this set up and looking good so the general populace can take a look and see what they think.

The platform I am using is Joomla with the Seminar extension so no coding skills required.

This sounds like a great idea! Though I’m not skilled enough (yet) in anything to be of help.

Really I need folks who can make stuff look pretty.

I have the software all running and some test events in it. The booking is all working and I am looking into whether it can track payments.

I got a system that allows event booking (and character management) 95% complete on the NZLARPS website, and then (as is often the case) never got around to finishing it.

I hope to put it live, along with changes to make the database more user-friendly, sometime this year.

That would be awesome, this thing has been long expected, is this going to be part of that “everyone have their profile on NZLARPS database and they can manage and check and update it” thing?

Yes. That functionality is already in place in the “Database” section, however a lot of people have trouble using it - mostly because they forget their username and password.

Hearing that Mandos has been working on a booking system has spurred me to get the one on the NZLARPS site finished now. At the same time, I intend to make the whole database and login process more visible and usable. I had been planning an overhaul of the NZLARPS site, and this will be a good first step in that.

Yup, exactly. I was told which email address I am registered with, but I dunno if it is my username, or password, or neither of those, so unless something like “forgotten your username and password?” function is included I won’t be using that stuff anyway.

Actually, in this case I’m not sure what I’m doing in this thread :open_mouth:
