Black Hart of Camelot

Hi Everyone

I want to see what interest there is for a one off LARP set in the time of Camelot, this was written and run very sucessfully by Ryan Paddy up at Chimera in Auckland and most of us Wellingtonians who went up played in it.

The game is for 19 -24 players, if there is interest it will be better run outside during Summer on a Saturday afternoon and will go for 3-4 hours. The game is costume intensive and really needs everyone to make a good effort with costumes.

I would prefer to see boffer (foam) weapons there and available for use (such as for Knights in the list) but it is not a game where you go around whacking everyone.

Here is a link to Ryan’s game description for Chimera:

Cheers

Sounds great, I was disappointed not to make it up to Chimera, but with St. Wolfgangs coming up in November, only so many times I can escape up to Auckland a year.

Cheers,

Bryn.

You could just move here.

Bit of a commute to work though.

Bryn.

Bryn, if you’re still interested in running this (and I recommend you do because it is a fantastic game) I recommend contacting the newly registered user Stephano. Who you will find is a solid gold addition to your local group.

Hi Scott, Bryn,

Derek and I go way back, and he is being very kind to introduce me.

But I’m afraid to say, I’m not really able to do ‘solid gold’ at present; perhaps ‘tatty pewter’ is about all I have time for, being that I and my wife have a five month old boy, and we are also in the process of possibly buying a house in the South Wairarapa.

Nevertheless, if you’re planning to run a medieval LARP in the Wellington area, and I don’t have a conflicting engagement, I expect I will be interested in playing as a PC or NPC.

Most of my medieval clothing is C15th Southern European (Italian, Spanish), although I have some earlier period stuff, including a monk’s robe  I also have, er, medieval props; mainly tents, camp furniture, armour and weapons, some banners, etc. I have been known to cook medieval food, on occasion, too.
Cheers

Alistair aka Stefano

Ooooh hello you!

I’m bumping this so Scott sees it. We may certainly be able to offer you games to tempt you in the future!

I’d love to support your LARP, as an ex-Wellingtonian I don’t get back there often enough. But as an Aucklander-by-choice (and career decision), the date you chose to run it on will be the deciding factor for me.

Second weekend in Dec is the tentative date I believe.

We are going to delay running Black Hart of Camelot until into the New Year, mainly due to the fact that I am heavily involved in some projects at work and can’t Guarantee what weekends I will have roll outs and what weekends I will have free. Hopefully this also allows us to have nicer weather for an outside game and to get a bigger collection of costumes and weapons.

There will be announcement of another great game being run in December by one of our very experienced GMs.
