We hope to run some of the smaller mini tournaments during this time, like Bloodbowl, StarWars ccg, Pirates of the Spanish Main. If you have a game you haven’t played in years and are wanting to find some opponents, this would be the time… also let me know what you are interested in playing so I can post a list of “who wants to play this?” for Sat night.

Prize Giving on Sunday night at 6:30pm. In the gap between tournaments finishing and Prize Giving we hope to finish any of the mini tournaments started Sat night, do some more fun games and we are looking at having some special guest speakers demonstrating their modelling products and the like.

There is some crash space available for those from out of town. Email me if interested.

Hell Pizza’s have organised us a special rate for large pizzas so there will be an order for pizzas happening for 6pm delivery. Order at the registration desk. This will be for both Sat and Sun nights.

There will be teeshirts available, and a munchies shop. And several of our sponsors will have stalls and demonstration tables on site.

Keep an eye on our website theamericaclub.net.nz/battlecry2007 as it’s being updated daily.

Ok, now for the more serious…

On the Friday night, 9th of February, there will be a Pirate Larp. I’m running it, and I’m working with Lucy so that it’s set in the same world/area of her pirate game. At this stage I’m hoping this will mean if people already have a character, they can play it at the BattleCry larp. Those who don’t, can be given a pre-gen’s character for the night… or make up a character for Lucy’s game.

Things that will be different though. America/BattleCry larps don’t do real combat, of any form. Weapons would just be pretty accessories. If you get into a combat-like situation, there will be much play acting, ham-ing it up, and then some paper/scissors/rock duelling to work out who won, no drawing of swords. More detailed rules will be posted on the BattleCry website, when I’ve finished them.

So that’s one larpy thing.

NZLarps are looking at running an afternoon game, possibly Sunday afternoon, which is an outdoors, pulp fantasy sort of theme… reasonably unlimited players…

And looking at running a smaller inside, 10-12 player, modern thing, possibly on Saturday night… for those who don’t want to board game… this game would depend on if we have 10-12 players who say “yes I’m so there”.

This is where I come in.

Please let me know if you are definitely interested in:

  1. Friday night pirate game (own costuming/props)
  2. Outdoors, afternoon game, probably Sunday (supplied costuming/props)
  3. Sat night, inside modern game, limited players (low costuming/props)

If you are interested in just 1 or 2 of these options, it’ll just cost you $5. If you are interested in all 3 of these options, and nothing else during BattleCry, it’ll be $10…

Unfortunately the Sat night mini larp game and the Sun afternoon larp game have both been cancelled.

If anyone wanted to organise something else instead in these times, please email me asap.

Karen

Oh!

So… just Pirates then!

Yeah, sorry. We will start work on BattleCry 2008 in March this year, that way we can have heaps of time for getting things written and such… so if anyone wants to offer to run a mini-larp in Feb 2008, please let me know  Not sure what the overall theme will be, but will keep you posted.

As for the pirates, I would really like people to let me know if they want to take part… and if they want to use their pirate characters from Lucy’s pirate game asap… would make working in rumors and plot lines alot better…

It’s only 4 weeks away…

I’m up to 12 players atm. Anyone else?

Do you accent on-the-day’s?

Normally that would be ok, if those people are happy with pre-generated characters.

If people are wanting to play their current Pirate characters, or want to make up pirate characters which can be used in future larps, then they need to get in touch before BattleCry. Preferably a week before, so that I can see their character sheets, find out what they did in the last one, and so I can insert them into my “plot matrix” with enough time to tweak if it’s needed.

I would prefer if people told me they are thinking about it, so I can then set something up for them, so I have enough pre-generated characters for them.

I don’t mind pre-registrations for maybes…

Memememememe. Sign me up.

Ok, I’ll email you about it right now…

Sign me up, please.

Could you email me on info@theamericaclub.net.nz with a real name and details so I can talk to you about your character please.
