Auckland Regional Committee Meeting - April 2011

It’s the first Wednesday in April already !! All invited, and we’ve got a bit to catch up on because of the late cancellation of last month’s meeting.

Location: Mike’s place (26 Malvern Road, Morningside)

Time: 7:30pm

Agenda:

  • Matters Arising
  • Trailer update
  • Actuals from Dunedin Black Hart of Camelor
  • Upcoming larps
  • General Business

More notice needed, Mike. Left home in the morning and only just got home.

That the meetings are on the first wednesday of the month is news to me.

We asked for more notice last time you gave us less than 24 hours.

OK, just so it is clear - which I thought it was since we discussed at the AGM just after the committee was elected:

  • Meetings are always held on the first Wednesday of the month (but no meeting in January). Committee members, please update your diaries and schedules to reflect this.
  • The default location is my place, unless announced otherwise.
  • If you can’t make a meeting, please provide apologies, and email me your report (if applicable)

We can change the date to something else if first Wednesday does not work, but whatever it is, it needs to be regular for the sake of planning.

Also, I can’t host the meeting in May, so would anyone like to host it ?

Mike

Even though it’s always on the first ‘‘something’’ of the month (and always has been, as far as I remember), it may pay to post a reminder with an agenda a week or so before each meeting anyway.

It’s human nature that some committee members will forget the regular meetings if not reminded, and non-committee members may want to attend but not know the regular schedule. It provides a reminder for people to add stuff to the agenda, and it lets people know that the meeting is still on and hasn’t been moved or something.

How would people feel about adding a meeting of the national committee onto the next Auckland meeting? It’s been about six months since we were elected at the AGM, and it would be nice to all catch up in person about national business like membership, the national accounts, advocacy, services, etc.

Given that I’m the only member of the national committee who isn’t on the Auckland committee too, if I make an appearance then in theory we could all convene.
