Auckland Committee Vacancy

David Agnew has stepped down as the Marketing Officer for the Auckland committee. The committee is likely to appoint someone else to fill the role until the AGM. Role description:

Marketing Officer
Update Website with current/upcoming games.
Ensure marketing supplies are good - business cards, flyers etc.
Network with other groups to advertise our events with them.
Prepare and deliver end of year report for the RGM.

I would definitely be interested. May I come along to the meeting tonight to discuss it? Also I assume there is a procedure for replacing committee members outside of an election?

Section 24 of the constitution allows a committee to appoint someone to fill a casual vacancy. The alternative would be a regional SGM to elect someone.

As per the NZL constitution:

(b) The Committee shall have power to appoint a member to fill any casual vacancy on the Committee until the next Annual General Meeting caused by resignation, death, expulsion, absence or removal from office and any member so appointed shall (except in the case of resignation, death, expulsion, absence or removal from office) hold office until election of successors to office at the next Annual General Meeting together with the rest of the Committee but all or any of the retiring Committee shall be eligible for re-election.
