Auckland Armageddon is held on Labour weekend, which is 26-28 October this year.

It is an important promotional event, and we often attract a number of new larpers through our stall.

This year, we need someone to be the Armageddon Project Manager. Key responsibilities include:

  • Organising load in / load out / stall setup (we already have display items)
  • Organising stall managers (suggested in half-day slots), day passes etc
  • Communicating with the Armageddon organisers, ensure our treasure makes payment etc
  • Organising stall attenders (typically, larpers in costume)

NB: This does not mean you have to attend to the stall (apart from being on hand for the load in / out / set up part).

Assuming we don’t attend Friday night (which, I understand, is not well patronised), this means you would need to organise 6 half days (Sat, Sun, Mon).

This year, the Crucible team will be keen to provide display items and significant stall attendee support, but (for various reasons associated with our high levels of commitment in general), are unable to take on the project management of this event.

Will definitely be there and helping out but don’t quite have the time to do the organising.

Even though the Friday night is usually not well attended, the exhibitor contract says that the stands must be completely set up 5 minutes before the opening on Friday and must manned at all times during the convention.

As the slow buildup to Armageddon begins, it is time to start scheduling. We have table booked in the Artists Corner, so what I now need are volunteers to help me man the stand. Below is a link to my Armageddon Schedule. What I would like is to have two to four people there at all times preferrably in costume. I have been told that if I have to stay there the entire time, I will likely get horribly sick so when I have a couple of people booked into certain timeslots I’ll be able to take those off, which would be nice.

It should be open to edit to everyone so if you don’t know which times you’ll be able to volunteer then write your name down the bottom under the Volunteers title, otherwise feel free to just put your name down on any of the times.

In previous years we have run special games after Armageddon that new larpers can be directed to.

That seemed to work pretty well, do we have any plans like that this year? Just realised Armageddon is a couple of weeks away now.

I don’t think anything is organised at this stage.

Reminded: If anyone has some spare time over Labour weekend, they sign up to help out on this Google doc. It’s a lot of fun :slight_smile:
