America's Cup (10th July) Larp

Hi all,

Here are the details for the America’s Cup Larp coming up on Friday the 10th of July. I know there is a clash, can’t be helped.

America’s Cup Larp, Friday night 10th July.

"Mystery on the Continental Express"
1970’s, a train trip cross country lines following the trail of the old Orient Express, a grand old redecorated train… many people from all walks of life… what could possibly go wrong!!!

Commerce A building, starting 7pm. Free if you are registered for the weekend event, $5 for just Larp attenders. (refreshments included)

So raid your parents wardrobes/op shops etc for some glam 70’s fashions.

Limited numbers so see me about a character. A small questionaire will be sent to each registered person to help tailor a character to you. The earlier people contact me, the bigger choice of characters for the picking.

Regards,
Karen

I emailed about a week ago and I haven’t heard back…has anyone else had any luck?

From what I’ve heard, Karen is having a lot of problems with her computer atm, so has little to no internet access. Probably better to email Patrick, he’s also involved.

I see. Perhaps it would have been a wiser idea to post a contact that is easily accesible, especially since the website provides little help in saying how to get in touch, I couldn’t find an email or a sign up form anywhere.

Thank you for the heads up, Daphne, I will attempt to contact Patrick.

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay. My computer died and my access has reduced a wee bit.

More information:
Friday night 10th July
Commerce A building at Uni campus
Game starts 7pm, venue opens 6:30pm
Characters will be given out pre-10th so registration ahead of time is preferred. I will have some characters for people who just turn up on the night but it will be just pot luck what you get.

Cost to take part in just the Larp $5 (if you are taking part in the roleplaying weekend then it’s cost is included in the weekend cost)

As people register for the larp I will send them a short questionaire about the sorts of characters they prefer to play, what skills they would like to have and other such things… to help me tailor a character specifically for you. I will also need a head shot digital photo for your character props. I have a camera I can take pics of you, if you appear somewhere I am.

PM me on here to sign up, or I can be contacted via txt on 027 6694937, or pop into my work and have a chat with me (I have paper copies of the questionaire with me at work) I work in King of Cards, in Queen’s Arcade.

Rightio, less than 2 weeks. If people are interested in taking part can they let me know as soon as possible.

So far I have Anna, Vanya, Mila, Alan M, Laura, Antonia, Hannah, Blair…

Tigger expressed an interest in playing too, so I’ve forwarded him the questionnaire.

Awesome, thanks.

I’ve been looking around on the website, but I can’t see anywhere to register…
I’ve been looking around on the website, but I can’t see anywhere to register…
We don’t have anything so nice as that. But there’s usually an email link… Maybe try info@theamericaclub.net.nz?

Really? Cause I’ve been going to America’s Cup for the last three years and I remember there being a place to register on the webpage.
Unless I’m thinking of BattleCry…

I got in touch with Karen via her personal email. Let me know if you need me to PM it to you.

You are thinking of BattleCry. Usually we have pieces of paper at the club meetings and get people to fill those in. Email me to register, especially for the Larp. Menolly@es.co.nz

Ah! Well then, personal email it is.

Registration is now closed. I’m sending out characters either tonight or during tomorrow. We have 17 players… yay! There will be no characters on the day, sorry.
