AMERICA is the Auckland University role playing and gaming club.
I attended the AMERICA AGM on Tuesday night to spread the word.
You wouldn’t believe what they’re starting - a LARP society of AMERICA, that helps fund games etc. Imagine that!
I gathered a bunch of email addresses to ping when we’re ready to take nominations for committee positions. A few of them have emailed me already as well.
Just an FYI on those things.
What was their reaction to what we’re doing?
They were pretty hard to read, to be honest. I’m not sure I presented it entirely right, 'cos they weren’t excited enough to have understood it. They definately didn’t say “Hey, you can’t do that!” or anything.
I wouldn’t worry about it overly.
I’d be sceptical if I heard someone talking about this great new thing that doesn’t exist yet, too. Especially coming from people as excitable and flighty as roleplayers.
The proof of the pudding will be in the eating. In other words, we’ll have to actually do it and do it well before it impresses anyone.
