Almighty Johnsons?

From the TV show’s website:

“It is in the forest, in front of his brothers and Olaf (who he is told is his grandfather, not his cousin) that Axl is taught the true nature of who his family are – the human incarnations of Norse Gods. Naturally Axl doesn’t warm to this idea at first – suspecting it is some kind of elaborate prank – but after some displays of Godly power involving the throwing of swords and the playing of Paper, Rock, Scissors, he starts to get on board - and starts to learn of his history – of Norse Gods settling in Central Hawkes Bay.”

Bwah? RPS mention had me giggling. Anyone seen the show?

It’s by creators of Outrageous Fortune. Haven’t seen it yet (and forgot to record it, so will have to on-demand it.

I know one of the actors in it, and he said it was good. I’m looking forward to watching it.

Anyway, here’s a review over at Public Address.

The guy who does the Energy Spot ads is the god of cold and darkness  Good casting
It’s not too bad, will definitly watch the second episode but I haven’t made up my mind about it yet.

I liked it, well crafted, and seems to capture the NZ culture well. Good guys, vs bad girls, though we don’t know how the girls fit into the story yet. The powers are understated which makes it more realistic somehow.

It’s always good to get a completely unbiased opinion :stuck_out_tongue:

I just watched it on the TV3 website. It’s pretty good. Um. Lots of nudity in case anyone’s bothered by that kind of thing.

I just did the same thing. I liked it. It seems to have potential.

Can’t say I really noticed the nudity. It’s fairly understated in comparison to… well just about any HBO show for example.

Kara and I are watching it right now. It’s good fun! And yes, lots of naked men!

And a “god of rock paper scissors!”

Yep. Liked it. Some very funny moments. Favourite line is the one about being “pants on”. Won’t say anymore than that.

Hot Olaf?

Watched this finally the other day, had to steer away from all references to the show, before we managed to watch it.

Now, is it just me, or is there something up with Odin’s right hand?!?
