After the apocalypse

Hey I was just wondering how many people would be interested in playing in a post apocalyptic larp? I’m thinking something along the lines of Mad Max meets Escape from LA, meets Shadowrum. I have a couple of ideas, but I just want to make sure people other then myself would be keen first.

will there be mindless zombie killings?

what about souped up Holdens flying through caravans, and will tina turner be involved in any way.

No, no and a million times no! lol, I was thinking of the good ones  .

I’m not sure, I suppose that will really depend on what sort of apocalypse there has been, but I wouldn’t rule it out.[/quote]

I haven’t heard of Mad Max or Escape from LA or Shadowrum, but I think I’d still be keen.

hmm sounds very intriguing, count me in
Just let me know if you need a hand with anything.

Id be keen.

I’d be in for sure. This is the kind of game that can fuse a lot of gear together, and we can make anything go

We even have a generator now!

When can we run a test game?

Here’s an idea for a cheap, big setting: only play at night.

Theory is that the apocalypse munted the sky so badly it turned black.
It solves the problem of too many people being around, the only ones you’d have is freaks, goons, shift workers and the police. It’d be quite easy to believe that life is like that 24/7.

Would have to do it in the winter when it’s dark and the nights are long.
Just had to write the idea down somewhere.

whoops, I meant shadowrun

Here’s some info for the uninitiated

Shadowrun is a roleplaying game set in the year 2065. Magic has returned to the world along with magical races such as Orcs, Trolls, Elves and Dragons. Giant multinational megacorps run the world, all but outside the law. In the shadows of this world, away from the corps lurk the shadowrunners, mercenaries for hire who take on the missions often of dubious legality that noone else is brave enough (or perhaps foolish enough) to take.

Mad max is a movie starring Mel Gibson (don’t writre it off just yet) in which he plays a highway cop turned vigilante after his wife and baby are murdered by a motorcycle gang. The movie spawned two sequels, in which the post apocalyptic theme is explored in more depth. Info can be found at these sites

Escape from LA is a movie set in a grim near future in which the city of LA has become a maximum security prison where a totalitarian government sends miscreants and criminals. The main character snake Plissken is forced to enter the city in order to retrieve the presidents daughter and a powerful weapon. This is movie is actually the sequel to Escape from New York, but I think the sequel is much better then the first. More info can be found here…

nb: the movies are available at most video stores

Really, I thought it was his daughter Utopia who had stolen the device and fallen in love with the gang leader?

I beleive you may be thinking of the sequal escape from new york

No escape from New york is where Snake has to rescue the president, I even double checked online. Escape from New York was the first movie, escape from LA is the sequel

So am I :unamused:

Oh my God :open_mouth:

Nah if you want a post apocalyptic view of the world watch “Tank Girl”

its been a few years…but they are such awsome movies.

Tank Girl is one of the very few movies that actually managed to capture the essence of the graphic novel.

i loved it

I’d swear Snake Plissken was from Metal Gear Solid, but then, I haven’t seen the movie either! :stuck_out_tongue:

Would love to join in, and be very happy to help!
