And now a little more info for you all.

  • There will be two costume workshops, both of which are being run by the very talented Michaela de Bruce. The workshops take you through constructing a ladies costume from the 1880’s and take place in two parts. The first workshop looks at Bodice construction while the second looks at drafting the skirt pattern. Michaela has also indicated that if there is sufficient interest from gentlemen she can include something for them in the workshops too, so guys feel free to sign up too.

You can see some of Michaela’s work at her website here -->http://costumes.glittersweet.com/index.htm

  • Anna has been working on some LARPing workshops which will run throughout the day. These will allow people to find out about the hobby and how they can get involved.

Please note that there are limited places in both the Costume and LARPing workshops so you will need to register on the day.

  • The big event of the day will be the costume competition and parade which will take place in the afternoon. Registration for this is free and is open between 10am and 1pm. Weta workshops are sponsoring some cool prizes for this so we hope to see you all in your steamy finery.

  • Kara is very kindly lending us her awesome face-painting talents between 11 and 1

  • Several demonstrations will run throughout the day showing you how to ‘pimp’ your Nerf gun into a steampunk raygun

  • Our volunteer sections are doing some cool bits and pieces too. The printing section will be making airship licences, and the Telecommunications section will have some awesome telegraph and punch tape machines available for you to try out among other things.

So come along for an awesome day out. Bring your costumes, bring your friends and if all goes well this could be the start of something special. See you all there
