33AR Session 2 - Post Mortem

So a lot of things went down in session 2. Why not share what happened to your character (as much as should be public knowledge of course) here?

To get the ball rolling: Elise arrived on camp searching for news on her missing maid Bess and found that she was now #74, the loveable homunculus. Bess was apparently killed and so while following up leads on her murder, Elise stumbled upon the demon worshipping cult only to be arrested on charges of cult involvement. Thankfully, Captain Blake and Ivy were satisfied with her version of events and Elise was not convicted. Elise worked to further the cause of East India company by advocating homunculi conversions. Alas, at the close of this session, Elise’s childhood came to bite her as a Mr. Black from her past turned out to be a demon who implicated her once more in cult activities. Not wanting to suffer yet another wrongful arrest, Elise boarded an airship along with her fellow East India associates. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

WELL, where do I start?!

Orpha Montgomery came back to the camp to finally demonstrate her fantastic demon summoning cage to the rest of the survivors in hopes of helping to further the understanding of demons and their source. Unsurprisingly, this did not turn out well for her, as the cage turned itself on and attracted demons as soon as it was turned off (she had to follow orders, of course). Her mood (and sanity) did not improve after meeting 74, the homunculus wearing the face of her recently deceased close friend Bess. Matters were worsened even further after finding that the most important aspect of the cage (the beacon) was stolen by Leo and Ivy that night. Don’t even get me started on the fact that the pirate captain that she was running from finally caught up to her and was wanting to trade Leo’s sister in exchange for her, all the while being hooked on a drug containing demon blood given to her by a certain member of the East India Trading Company. At the same time, she was thrust into the role of the Head Representative of the Union of the Gear for the Isle of Skye. ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT she had to wear a bloody skirt of all things (CURSE YOU SAMEERA)!!
Needless to say, this caused Orpha to snap, as demonstrated by her increasingly insane ideas (as seen in the notebook). Driven by her desires to further the Union and her taskforce, find her father, discover who killed Bess, and get her prized cage/portal controlling device in complete working order, Orpha died at the hands of the Gypsies, after meeting her half-brother for the first time. APPARENTLY it’s seen as “immoral” to test out the Portable Information Extractor(read: torture device) on Ivy, when it was clearly her fault for stealing the beacon from Orpha in the first place.

breathes

Had a fantastic time  You guys were all amazing to roleplay with.
(just ignore the fact that this is really poorly written, am currently half-dead from exhaustion)

Zek Flaherty finally confronted his past involvement with an old friend, Callum, which brought him a level of closure that he had never had before. Despite the fact that he is not well-trained as a fighter, he was often at the front line, or traveling on ill-defined and often dangerous missions. This, coupled with a series of unfortunate injuries and deaths, meant that Zek was brought close to a complete collapse. On the plus side, he might be able to bless water again now that he’s not beating himself up for his past mistakes.

Hmm busy weekend.

It started off well; Jane met new people, made new friends, and successfully shook people’s hands at least 30% of the time even without gloves… Belinda was even there for a little while, which was reassuring.

Then there were waves of zombies. Zek began to get quite upset by how many times Jane uninterrupted his dance practice to inform people about them.

Jane’s primary concern of getting the Queens gift delivered (and not screwing up the little speech) went off without a hitch, which according to Royal Mail superstition is quite a good omen.

Then there were waves of zombies.

As she slept Jane’s memory started to re-emerge with a vengeance, showing her things she’d really rather not know. Unfortunately she couldn’t ask for help with them as her best friend turned out to be a cultist, and, well, cultists have not left a favourable impression on Jane over the last 6 months. A Robin then arrived with terrible tidings and promptly died, reminding her it might not matter because she’ll probably be dead soon anyway.

She tried opium for the first time. It did not agree with her.

Then there were waves of Zombies. Jane, being quite cowardly, didn’t do too well against them, but she did manage to find someone who had been left unconscious in the woods and got them conscious and to safety. So there’s that.

After a day of running around generally trying to help keep the camp running in whichever way she could, Esther was caught leading Lady Elise to a cultist initiation ceremony upon which Ivy immediately arrested her and escorted her back to the camp for interrogation.

The fact that she is three months pregnant with her recently-deceased husband’s child became public knowledge when she suffered a miscarriage scare after being attacked and knocked out during the battle on Sunday morning. After being treated and resting in the infirmiry, she is confident that both she and the baby are going to be fine.

Esther has been declared a prisoner, as her knowledge of medicine and demonology make her too valuable to kill. She is confined to movement between the main camp buildings, allowed to move around under armed guard.

[OOC] - I had to question Jane’s humanitarian side, when the wounded mailman turned up, died & her response was something along the lines of “Oh look, mail! Is he dead? Oh well, at least the mail got through”

I might be para-phrasing a little, it’s hard to concentrate when the dead are being beheaded and burnt so quickly… hehe.

Gadget arrived exhausted to the camp after Valencia and her WALKED from London to the coast where they caught a barge to Skye. Added to her exhaustion was the distress that Valencia was damaged and in need of repair. She was glad to find some comfort in meeting with her friend 74, whom she found much solace in through out the weekend. Her time in Hanover has been some of the most thrilling and she’s not sure how she feels about that. She missed the solitude of her home and London, and was amazed that people did not understand how quiet she found London till her parting. Meeting Orpha was a highlight of her game as a fellow scientist they shared some great ideas. Thus it was sad to see Orpha decline into insanity through the weekend. On Saturday afternoon when she was kidnapped and then fed upon by zombies, nearly broke her mentally, but the hardest part was seeing the Gypsies and friends of Moss comforting her and realising the only person she has in her life she built. She then made a complete tit of herself at the ball as she drank her first alcohol and got rather drunk. It was even more to her surprise that when she awoke from “sleeping it off” that there had been an epic battle around her passed out body. Sunday though was her day, She was vital in helping Ivy and Jack escape the mad scientist since she was not searched for weapons and was left with her tools. Furthermore she was able to create artificial body parts for Leo Blake which he thankfully did not need and destroyed the device which Orpha tortured Ivy with and was responsible for the destruction of Orpha’s journal. Off to do research and gather more supplies for the laboratory soon as she repairs her companion Valencia she is off with Sameera to travel, learn and invent… and perhaps covince Sameera to let her improve her cat ears(ie. add tea making capabilities). Also figure out who she reports to first now that she is both a member of The Society for the Betterment of Humanity AND The Union of The Gear.

(OOC. Seriously next game I’m hoping to have a much more fleshed out laboratory in which we scientist can tinker and such, if anyone wants to help let me know!)

The more IC areas the better in my opinion! It’s awesome to feel there are plenty of spaces we can go and interact.

I don’t know how much more space you will have for the command center though…

Being I’m no longer in any sort of command I don’t mind! We could just move it to a corner of the taverna building.

Dahlia is a fresh face, and is known by the codename “Eir” and probably the most approachable out of the 3, as Loki doesn’t ever talk and Thor is just a big brute with no manners. She seems to have established herself well amongst those at the camp, by showing she is helpful when it comes to providing medical care mid-battle, developing her fighting skills along the way. She is a little shaken after her being kidnapped and taken to a mad scientist’s lab, and feels in debt to Ivy, whose quick thinking, leadership and lock picking got more than just the two of them out alive. Captain Leo is grateful to Dahlia and the other Doctor’s, whose potentially dangerous surgery saved him from a certain death after it was discovered he had internal bleeding after some organ ruptures.

After the funeral of Flint, Dahlia and the other mercenaries decided it was best they leave to find work elsewhere. She will be gone for 6 months with the rest of her group, taking along little grease-monkey Luca who they have accepted as one of their own (Mainly because Luca can hardly leave her alone). Dahlia will return with the other mercenaries, with more than their last visit, to see what unfolds next at the Isle of Skye.

(Merc. Group’s Side Plot:) It was only the day after their arrival when Loki was approached by a strange monk, with information on the whereabouts of Loki’s family. In exchange for the information, the monk wanted Loki to kill Thor and Eir. Loki however decided it was best that Thor and Eir pretend to be dead, and spring an attack on the monk before he realizes what is happening. The monk was tied up and interrogated for information on Loki’s family. After having both his legs broken by Thor, the Monk asked Loki if Thor and Eir would like to know what Loki did to one of us. Before he could say any more, his words were quickly halted by Loki’s bullet to his chest. Thor and Eir remain loyal, but cautious of Loki.

#74 was also concerned for her safety from some of the other scientists, and approached the mercenaries for paid protection which they gladly accepted

All I can think of right now, so much happened!

TL;DR Arrived on Isle of Skye, mended some people, left after there were many feels.

Yeeeeah, Janes seen a lot of dead Robins. The response quickley gets parred down to “welp, that could be any of us. That could be me tomorrow. Poor brave soul, I’ll report your death in the line of duty to Master Biffin and if you have any family left they’ll get your last pay and medal delivered to them. Hmm, not sure how he died, better burn him.”

You’re taking Luca? Aww. Lily and Jack had such high hopes for the kid. He was going to be our lookout.

Plenty of time to convince her to stay… hehe

Luca is a little too-attached to Dahlia to not be around any other group I’m afraid.
