2010 Calendar anyone?

I know we’re all coming to the ends of our Wolfgang’s calendars, courtesy of the Photo Ninja Judit, anyone with plans for making one for 2011? I need a new calendar.

Teonn calender please!

Aha! I see Vanya has already beaten me to starting this thread.

After discussion with and much encouragement from Jared, I wish to float this idea of putting together a calendar for 2011. It really wasn’t something I had considered or thought about but given enough interest, I am definitely happy to do so. These proved popular last year and make a great momento of some of the awesome moments of an epic game.

So, my first question is, would you be interested in a 2011 larp calendar? These would take the same format as last year with a 12 month / page calendar with colour images featuring a selection of photographs for each month and the pages spiral bound together. This would be roughly A4 in size and last year sold for $25-30 and I would probably be looking at the same sort of price again. All in favour, please express interest on this thread and spread the word to those who might have missed it and you think might be interested.

Second question: What should the theme of the calendar be? The suggestion of Teonn came up and though there is no shortage of photographs and stories and love of the game, it’s still quite new a game, maybe better suited to wait another year until after three games have run. The other suggestion was a general ‘year of larp’ calendar, featuring some of the big games from throughout the year (St. Wolfgangs end game, Chrono Continuum, Teonn) and maybe a cross section from Chimera and Refuge. If you are more interested in a general one, please by all means put forward which photos you feel should be in there or which games from Chimera.

Anyone who has come to me telling me they do not want photos of them online will also automatically not have these photos of them in this calendar out of respect unless I am told otherwise. And anyone else who also doesn’t want photos of them appearing in the calendar, just let me know and no problems!

Feedback, go!

I would prefer a more general one- Teonn’s time will come, but for now, I think a general LARP would be better.

I have no real suggestions for Chimera game photos, perhaps the ones with the highest level of costuming?

Definitely would be better to wait at least until next year for a Teonn one. There’ll be a much greater pool of epic photos to choose from then

Teonn gets my vote of course but a epic generic one would be better than nought.

I am keen. I have been to 3 of the events (Wolfgangs, Teonn and Chimera) but honestly happy with whatever is chosen for the Calender

I think an overall one for the year would be better right now, photos from all the larps in the year.

Indeed, an overall ‘year in larp’ calendar would be brilliant.

The old, the varied, and the new. Wolfgangs, Chimera/Chrono, and Teonn.

I concurr ‘year in larp’ sounds like a great idea, I will definately buy one

I’d suggest maybe chucking ZombieLARP in there as well, that was a big event and you were the photoninja for that too

Taken into account the responses, I can positively say this will go ahead.
The theme will be an overall ‘Year of LARP’ calendar. I have begun trying to figure out which game to slot in where and I’ve usually put it in the corresponding month that it ran in. The bigger games like Teonn and Wolfgangs have been given two months.

January - Kapcon 2010 - Reunion LARP
February - Chimera – best game: Truth, Justic and Spandex!
March – Chrono Continuum: The Unknown
April - Chimera mixed page
May – St. Wolfgangs: Revelations
June - St. Wolfgangs: Revelations
July – Chrono Continuum: The Threat
August – A Town Called Refuge
September - Zombielarp
October – Chimera mixed page
November - Teonn
December - Teonn

So again taking feed back: Which ones do you want to see more or less of? What should go into the missing slots? - Here you can suggest any games from Chimera which you think should be commemorated. At this point I’ve put in TJS! as it won best game and Refuge for obvious reasons. I don’t think I’ve left any of the big games out (many apologies - I have no idea how Zombielarp slipped my mind but its definitely in there!). I know there were many other smaller games on this year but these are the game that I was at to photograph and hence the ones I have photos from.

Also, please feel free to suggest any specific photos you think should be included. For some of the games above I’ve included links to the Picasa photo albums (with the exception of Teonn and St. Wolfgangs where its the more general link to all the albums). Any other general question / comments are welcome.

Cheers for all the positive feedback and support and I’m excited about making this happen.

How about Dead Mans chest from Chimera? That also seemed to have great costumes and I remember some nice photos. Or a page of mixed photos from Chimera.

I think a Mixed Page (or more than one) from Chimera could be good.

Three spare slots, three days of Chimera…

Perhaps if a mixed page from Chimera, with different games in the one month, and three months to fill, perhaps an overall theme of photos for each?

Say, Chimera mixed photos: The people. Chimera mixed photos: The action. Chimera mixed photos: The drama.

Or something to that effect?

I would like a calendar.

I also have some photos taken at a few LARP events here in Wellington.

The sections on Kapcon Reunion LARP, Masquerade on Fleet St, Black Hart of Camelot, and Rick Jacobs memorial have photos from a number of 2010 events here in Wellington.

I have these at quite high resolutions, and would be glad to donate whatever might be wanted to such a calendar.
