1970s zombie larp! Free!

You’ve been invited to a party hosted by an esoteric artist who has a fascination with the supernatural and the unexplained. A wide range of people are expected to attend - bohemians, beatniks, disco-enthusiasts, scholars, musicians, and whoever else finds their way to the curious little house that sits near the edge of the woods.

But little do the party guests know that on this very night, hundreds of years ago, a very strange thing happened …

Please help Jackie cope with turning 40 by joining her for a 70s-themed fancy dress party + larp + zombie pubcrawl!

Date: Saturday, July 24th
Time: 7-10pm game (hard stop) 10pm - ? pub crawl!
Location: Karori (address to be provided)
Cost: Free!
Theme: 1970s + zombies!
Suitable for: Experienced/new larpers and non-larpers/non-roleplayers - everyone really!

This larp is designed as an interactive party where people’s level of participation can suit their comfort level. You can simply observe the goings on, or interact with the story and engage in combat (should their be any… ). However, there’s one important thing to note:

Many people, if not ALL people who attend, may end up as zombies by the end of the game. And the plan is to head into town for a few drinks after the game, dressed in full zombie gear!

So, in terms of costuming, please ensure that what you wear can get muddy/bloody/covered in makeup/etc… This is a RAIN or SHINE event that will partially take place in the woods where there is some cover from wind and rain, but not much. Sensible footwear is required, and warm clothes are encouraged. You can either make your own character, play a featured NPC, or just come as yourself (albeit a 1970s version!)

Is it wrong to be quite so excited about the idea of 70’s zombies.

Perhaps it’s a disease or plague or something turning people into Zombies, just to pick a name for it erm… how about Saturday Night Fever…

… Man, now I want a whole zombie army to do the Saturday Night Fever dance routine.

Super excited to have Aucklanders flying down for this! Hurrah for all the RSVPs so far. More game details coming soon.

As one of the Zombie minions tasked with eating brains erm I mean sorting out numbers, can anyone who wants to be a part of this 70’s Zombie mayhem, and hasn’t already e-mailed Jackie drop me a message please at:-

Please let us know if you just want to turn up as one of the hapless players or if you want to be sneaky and underhand and be part of the crew. Perhaps as a plant (and we aren’t talking the flora variety) or just an eager to get zombified victim. This might be particluarly suitable for anyone of a nervous disposition looking for a heads up to what’s going to happen. Please remember just because you’re crew doesn’t mean you’ll spend the night as a mindless zombie, quite the opposite in fact… (Oh for people who just want to be mindless zombies all night we can accomodate you too).

Please note: due to tearing something in my knee we’ve had to re-vamp the game slightly! The majority of it will take place indoors, which may suit those who were a bit nervous about the idea of being ambushed in the woods. For those of you who WANT to be ambushed in the woods, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Please email me by Friday to let me know if you want to play a “skeptic” or a “believer” - even if you’ve offered to crew.

Next up: Character “briefs” to come out on Friday/Saturday. For those of you who have offered to play crew this is where you’ll find out if we’re putting you into one of those roles or not.

It was indeed awesome. Everyone has mere days to live. Don’t believe Bryn when he says we won, he is an alien’s servant in disguise. The infection is spreading outward from Karori and you will all be zombie minions within days.
