Hey folks,
I’ve had a chat with the director of a new TV show that is looking for some larpers in fantasy costume to be extras in a few scenes. This is the show that Eva mentioned here.
Is anyone keen to appear as larpers in a TV show? Here are the details:
[ul][li]The shooting date is Sunday 19th January. Note that this is the same date as Skirmish and Kapcon. It will be in Woodhill Forest.[/li]
[li]6 to 10 larpers in the nicest fantasy costume we can put together, with nice equipment (weapons, shields, avoiding modern clothing/shoes). The better we look, the better the impression of larp we’ll give. The brief is “larpers who take it seriously.” A mix of men and women.[/li]
[li]It won’t be paid, but they will make a contribution to NZLARPS.[/li]
[li]It might be nice if we could take some spare weapons for their actors who are playing larpers. The people in the foreground having good-looking larpsafe weapons would give a better impression of larp than the alternatives. One of the featured actors is playing a barbarian, so something like a 2-handed sword or a big axe could be good to lend them. Another is playing a princess.[/li][/ul]
Please note:
[ul][li]It’s a comedy, so you can expect them to play things for laughs. It sounds like the depiction may be “larpers taking themselves a bit too seriously”. I’ve talked with them about the clear distinction we make between IC and OOC, and given some other guidance.[/li]
[li]The scenes involves a larp group expelling one of the show’s characters because she’s been lying to them about herself OOC. The purpose of the scene is to drive conflict between some of their main characters.[/li]
[li]Whatever depiction of larp they’re going with, we can at least make a good impression with nice gear and good attitudes. [/li][/ul]
Post here, drop me a PM or email me on marketing@nzlarps.org if you’d like to be involved, and I’ll put together a list of people.
Cheers,
Ryan
