Wellington RGM 2013 - Committee nominations for 2013 - 14

As noted elsewhere, the Wellington Regional AGM will be held at 7pm Monday 16th September, at Fairfax Media, 40 Boulcott Street, Wellington. The core regional business is the election of a regional committee for the 2013 - 14 year.

What are the requirements?
You must be a member of NZLARPS wellington branch, and have been a member for two calendar months at the time of nomination.

The committee has a light workload and currently meets quarterly. There are occasional online discussions. However some roles, such as Marketing, Gear and Treasurer will require a greater time commitment.

How do I nominate someone?
Post their name and the position you are nominating them for below. Nominations must be accepted and seconded. Note that the nominator, and the seconder must have been members of NZLARPS for two calendar months at the time of nomination.

What are the roles?

There are five core positions:
Regional Director (currently Ellen Boucher) - runs committee, chairs committee meetings, acts as regional representative to national committee.
Secretary (currently IdiotSavant) - keeps minutes at committee meetings, communicates committee decisions to members, deals with any formal mail.
Treasurer (currently Anthony Doornebosch) - handles the money
Gear Officer (currently Mel Duncan) - handles storage and maintenance of society-owned equipment, keeps records of what we have and where it is.
Marketing Officer (currently Brooklynne Kennedy) - promotes larp to outsiders in an effort to recruit more larpers; updates community on what games are running.

In addition, the Regional AGM can decide to appoint up to two General Officers to handle anything else that needs to be done / contribute to committee discussion. Currently we have two of these (Bryn Jones and Scott Kelly). The RGM will have to vote first whether those positions are necessary before any election to them is held (so people could be nominated and seconded for a position which may not in fact exist)

Hi Everyone

To deal with some issues the AGM has been delayed. I will announce the new dates for Wellington and National AGMs soon, the Auckland AGM will follow approx. 2 weeks after. There are some new motions being put forward to vote on so I hope everyone takes the time.

Up until 15 days before the AGM nominations and new motions and agenda items can be submitted, so if there is anything else please get them in now.

The National Committee still has no National Marketing Officer nominated (Bryn Jones has been nominated but not accepted), so if anyone wishes to step up for this role that would be good.

Wellington Regional AGM details

So a reminder, the National and Wellington AGMs will be held on Tuesday 22nd October, at 7pm. It will be held at Fairfax Media, 40
Boulcott Street, Wellington (Same venue as last year). Scott will meet people downstairs and take them up to the conference room (if you need his number send him a number or a PM.

We will try and cover off the Wellington AGM first and then the National AGM.

We will need a large number of our membership there for quorum so all members are very much encouraged to come along. You can use this thread to organise carpooling and such.

If you live outside Wellington, or have another good reason for non-attendance, you may vote by email. We will be using the same email address for both National and Regional elections, so you should send two separate emails and clearly state in the subject line which each is for.

At the start of the meeting a returning officer will be voted on, they will have the responsibility to tally up the votes. The email address is: nzlarps2013agm@gmail.com
