Timetable thoughts

You’re a bit vague with times, there. When is “the end of the evening game”? Isn’t that what we’re discussing - that there is currently no knowing when the evening games may end, including debrief? If they wrapped up completely at 11:30pm, you might be asleep by 12:00:am. That might give you 8 hours sleep sleep until 8:00am, waking up half an hour before breakfast at 8:30. (Or you might wake up at 6:00am because you’re habituated to waking up then, but anyway).

I think we’re saying the same thing, except you’re leaving out the times. If players can leave the evening game by 11:30pm, most people can probably get just enough sleep. So what I’m saying is, let’s arrange things so players can get to sleep by midnight, which isn’t always the case at present unless the player is happy to sneak off while stuff is still happening. Personally I’d prefer an 11:00pm end which is why I suggested shifting the whole timetable, as that would leave even more people with enough energy - specifically the habituated early risers, the people who need a lot of sleep, the people who have trouble getting to sleep, etc. It’s statistical - the later it is, the more people will be put under strain. But 11:30 may be a reasonable compromise.

Basically, whatever process changes can result in fewer zombies on Sunday seems like a good thing. Blaming the zombies for staying up late to finish playing games or listen to debriefs doesn’t really help.

On Friday it’s a 3-hour slot which starts at 9pm. On Saturday it’s a 4-hour slot which starts at 8pm. In both cases they (are supposed to) wrap up around midnight. I see no problem with that on Saturday, as long as there’s a clear opportunity to bug out right at game end, and I already agreed that Friday could stand to begin up to an hour earlier.

I don’t really know what was happening in flagship as I spent pretty much the whole post-game debriefing sleeping with my back straight and eyes open, doing my best to pretend I’m awake. If it was made clear that it’s ok for people to walk away to go sleep, while the said debriefing is happening, I would… stay anyway, as I would feel separated and missing on things. I think what confused people re whether they can walk out after the voting was the briefing before the game that said we shall all vote and then walk back to the briefing hall and discuss the game there. That is not what happened, I understand that apparently it was changed to idea of debriefing right there in the game room for some sort of convenience, but it really made impression of “right now we should all stay here”.

If you can do voting easier, and not just for flagship but for everything, it would be totally awesome. I am embarrassed to go ask people’s names as it would give them idea I wanna vote for them, sometimes I can’t even catch them to try look at the badges as they already gone somewhere, and I need to have a vague idea who they are. Now that the whole voting is over, I can admit that the voted option “the pilot guy” that Rowena was complaining about as example of horrible voting, was done by me  I dunno how new people dealt with this issue.

Though I will point out that the later start on Friday really does help out of towners get there on time. At least those of us who don’t take the day off.

It might be useful to have sheets of player - character names around the room during voting.

I like that idea!

Top Idea! That will save a lot of difficulty that I, among others, have when voting for people who are so talented. 8)

Triple agree

Having a list of players and characters played for the game is useful. This will require coordination from the GM’s though to get a cast list either printed up or to the organisers for printing.

But I think this is a fantastic idea
