That Town They Call Refuge

I liked that line so much, I used it again and again :smiling_imp:

Heck, if I’d known that was all the trouble I would have gotten’ into, I would have continued.

Well, since you were invincible, why didn’t you? I was quite disappointed that everyone basically gave up whenever Rick was mentioned. A showdown woulda been all kinds of fun.

Yeah I have to admit I was really wanting some one to really attempt to hit on Ruby, either so I could shoot them or watch her knee them in the crotch :smiling_imp:

I was also hoping some one would call me out for a duel.

I agree with other Devlin comments above, unfortunately the family got very split up and didn’t get to do as much together as we would like, we were all very busy rushing around but not able to achieve a lot (either because of little evidence or being too early in the game), towards the end though Rick and Ruby had a couple of conversations about being sick of being lied to and started getting more agressive. We probably should have done this earlier.

The whole questions of secrets in larp is an interesting one. As far as a one off larp goes, the best thing for a great experience is if secrets come out - to that end a little bit of metagaming might have to happen (deliberately spilling the secret in a dramatic way)
In Refuge, we made sure (or tried to) that every secret was known by at least two other people to maximise the chances of it getting out. ā€œThree can keep a secret if two of them are deadā€.

Oh my. Thank you for not killing the general! As for Melody, though, I might have helped you…

Nope, not too perturbed. I figured you were lying to get Atherton out of the way so you could have Emily, and that just wouldn’t work for me. Sorry.

So I get the Governor of California… and find he’s a slimeball and a power hungry leader. start wondering if I’m being set up and type cast. NoIrregulars reassures me that no, that;s not the case, I was originally a guard/extra but the governor spot appeared and the other experienced RPers were needed.

So, with some trepidation (and a delayed start thanks to a missing critical costume part), I roll in. Flaws memorised and advanatges twitching.

Things go nice and quietly. I’m seen and heard when I want, and mostly anonymous when I want.

All good.

I grease, smarm and smile, but itch for a fight… that Steph’s character willingly ob;iged with.

The poor Sergeant - flumoxed when I call him outside, worried when I take my coat off to fight, shuts up when I give him he hat… retains presence of mind to reassure a terrified woman who sees the Governor fighting a woman. Much amusement.

Then I forget the basic rule of being a bastard. If your gut says do something, listen. Not calling for an escort out resulted in my kidnapping and eventual death.

Snerk.

Still - much fun was had and kudos to everyone.
