So, it's over. What did you all think?

Run with “glad” for the moment.

Believe me, you are not alone. An educated man like the doctor wonders why an educated man like the doctor would ever want to leave the Core…

The whores were fantastic and they made me (the player) promise myself that my daughters would receive a proper education, so that they will never need to go whoring for a living.

Well, it seems like Companionship isn’t such a bad gig.

Oh, you mean your real daughters?

“For a moment” - means “till the pics come”?
Omg, that purple…

Hey, mind the difference between a “companion” and a “whore” please :smiling_imp:

Well I’m glad they were appropriately trashy and uncultured, but

I feel similar about them as you do about the purple thing Derek :open_mouth:

Yeah, no. That was a contrast, not a comparison. Olivia thinks Companions are pretty neat.

I hope, for your sake, the camera-phone wasn’t really on… :smiling_imp:

Yes. As the person who opened the box, I agree that you should be glad you don’t know what he’s talking about.

Boo, my stupid bodyguard makes me miss all the fun…

Oh, I have it on good authority that it really was… dies of shame :open_mouth:

Checking in from Wellytown - massive congratulations to you all for making Chimera such an obvious success. You’ve well and truly launched yourself onto the national calendar and I am determined to make it up next time.

I’m sure you’ll be able to think of a hundred and one things to improve, but it seems like you got lots of it right straight off the bat. That’s wonderful to hear. (Anna did 90% of the organising herself?? That’s crazy!)

For my part, I think Chimera should stay put in Auckland. Auckland is the national powerhouse for LARP, always has been and presumably always will be, so to my mind talking of moving it to a more central locale would cost more in diffused energy and identity than it would gain from ease of access to non-Aucklanders.

I wish I could have come up this year. I’ll definitely be talking this up around Welly, to see if I can get a posse together.

All the best!

Awesome! We look forward to having you and your posse up here  We are very likely to be able to do the free accommodation thing again, if it makes things any easier.

I’m trying to get some people together to head down to KapCon next year, so we might meet you guys then

Coolness. Any thoughts of running a larp?

Just keeping you alive, safe and in one piece.

Keep it in Auckland. You have a strong support base there, and as word of the event spreads, more people will come. It’s also debatable how more convenient a central NI location would be for Wellingtonians anyway.

As long as you have games for.

Seriously, if you have to book the venue for the whole weekend, you might as well use it to maximum effect. Provided there’s plenty of time between games for meals and costuming…

Ditto. Based on the reports from this year, if there’s enough games I haven’t played in, then I’ll be up.

(Hmmm… train trip to Auckland for LARP…)

I agree with this. I wouldn’t have minded an afternoon game on the Friday, or another shortie on Sunday. Probably not both, though, so the people who are traveling far enough they’d have to ask for a day off work only have to ask for one.

So either keep it as is or stretch it a bit; I wouldn’t cut it down at all. If people are traveling in, they want to get their money’s worth, as it were. This perception could be skewed by the fact that I was only in one game each day, though. I hear that people who were in more got awfully close to, if not outright hit, burnout.

There are some thoughts… If I can finally figure out how to end the Cramond Island Halloween LARP, I might take that out for another spin…

Cool, it’s good to know that folks from Welly are in favour of it staying in Auckland.

Having it in Auckland is certainly more convenient for people up here, not just for travel but for getting gear to the venue, for people who want to go home to sleep, etc. And so long as flights are reasonably affordable, flying to Auckland is probably just as easy for people in other centres as driving/flying to some other city.

If you want the same people to come back then I think having the same-bat-time, same-bat-channel thing works best.

Nothing to stop people going down to Wellington for other events.

For sure. My only concern was that claiming to run a “national larp convention” but it always being in Auckland might seem a bit parochial and inconsiderate. But I’m glad it’s not an issue, and that running in Auckland is seen as about as convenient as could be reasonably hoped for.
