nzLARPS Working Bee - April 10th

We’ll be going from 10am till we get bored.

The re-iterate the plan:

 • We’ll have several people working on systematically making an inventory of the gear.
 • As many sewers on sewing machines to turn some of that misc fabric into soft kit
 • And the building of the gate.

If we could get a tally of how many people have for each task, that would be good. Ideally, with the gate, we should probably come up with what we actually want to build and have the materials ready before the day.

I’ll bring my sewing machine.

Sorry - double booked already :frowning:

Also, I have a brand new sewing machine, but I can’t sew (yet). Put your hand up if you can sew, and don’t have a machine, and I’ll bring it.
I can sew but no machine and my work schedule has just been changed so I will (barring it changing back again) be coming along.
Cool, I’ll bring our sewing machine.

I’m happy to do the gate, and have supplied a design concept upthread. If we go with the coreflute concept, I’ll bring sufficient coreflute, but we may need to get more glue if we run out. Coreflute does not take paint, so we will need to cover it with something, either a suitable material or something that can be painted *. Our existing gate was made to look made of stone, but our new one could be made to look bright, shiny and magikal instead of stone if we want.

 • Derek, does latex stick to coreflute ? If so, that could be a solution.

Um, could someone send me the address please,
thanks, Michelle

I’ll be there with my sewing machine. brrrrrmbrrrm.

Latex is great for covering padded weapons, because it is soft and stretchy. But I’d be hesitant to use if for anything else.
