nzLARPS Committe Nominations for 2008-2009

Seconded

I accept that I am awesome.

I totally agree. Both Projects and Community positions have been so passive as to be virtually horizontal  A Marketing role would require some key deliverables such as a marketing plan and monthly reports back to the committee.

Yes, this role will be pivotal in the success of nzLARPS so requires someone who is keen to put in the work. Not that they would be on their own, by any means. We have some marketing skills within the larping community. For example, I have a degree in marketing and Kath Dewar is a profession marketing consultant.

I think they were nominating you to become awesome.

Is there anyone who wants to be treasurer next year?

Apart from the obvious benefits, such as large numbers of attractive members of the gender of your choice wanting to sleep with you (*), you also get to spend hours poring over spreadsheets and chasing people for post-event actuals reports. You also get to see bank statements with larger positive values than your own, or at least I do.

Whoever does the job next year can have my support for a month or so to help them get into the swing of it, if they choose.

I have already put forward a nomination for Tigger to be treasurer, as yet there has been no second or acceptance.

I second Tigger for Treasurer.

I nominate Kim for General officer.

I second Kim for general officer

I’d like to nominate Vanya for Marketing Officer, presuming the new role is created at the AGM.

Vanya has the passion and energy required, a clear love for larp that comes across, and connections in related communities that we should be looking to.

I think he’d also know when to ask for help - and whoever takes on the role of selling this curious pastime of ours to the public is going to need it.

seconded,

I put myself forward as Treasurer, with the proviso that it is for maximum of two terms only.

I often see (in non-profit organisations) the Treasurer become a ā€œfor lifeā€ position, which is unfair for three main reasons.

  1. It becomes a burden for those doing it,
  2. Makes the position less appealing for others to put their name forward, sine there is no light at the end of the tunnel
  3. I think is unhealthy for a society/organisation’s money to be held in trust by one person for many years. Not that I mean there to be any implication for anything dubious to have had or will happen, but I think it removes any temptation so to speak.

I would suggest that a ā€˜rule’ or at least standard of practise is put in place to limit the length of the treasurer’s tenure. Comments …?

I second Hannah for treasurer.

I second Hannah’s suggestion…

I second Vanya for marketing officer
