Masquerade on Fleet Street - September 26th

i paid NZLARPS regular account, hope that’s where i was supposed to pay.

Is it too late to get a position on this game? I’m just trying to secure an evening pass…

Definitely. D’you want a goodie or a baddie?

Morals, my dear are of no concern to me, as long as I may be well dressed.

I must say, dear sir, this is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever heard! applauding

Ah, Derek, well said :slight_smile:

By the way, if people have spare masks, can they please bring them for the inevitable forgetting thereof?

In terms of spaces, we are doing well, we are now down to needing to fill two female roles, and possibly a male one.

I’ll pick up a couple of extra from the $2 shop. They have some very nice white full face paper mache masks for $2 each.

Paper mache ones? Nice. Wish my local had had those. I had wanted to make a mask from scratch, but I went to the local $2 and they were all premade. Then went to Spotlight and had a heart attack at the price it would have added up to to make what I wanted. More than my dress! So, boring old $2 shop plastic mask it is. :slight_smile:

I’m using the mask I got when I went to see Allegria 8 years or so ago. It’s finally going to come in handy.

Ooooooooo… SO jealous! Those masks are amazing. and cost a small fortune. can’t wait to see it. :slight_smile:

Anyone want to give me a lift from town?

We’re almost full, I just need one more female player, and a photographer since Judit had stuff come up :frowning:

I’m trying to paint us some masks a bit like these. But my paintbrush is too big. LOL.

Anyway, I will have a couple of spare masks available.

If anyone has spare wigs, please bring them.

Venue = AWESOME
Costumes = AWESOME
Players = AWESOME
Me = DEAD

That venue, costing us $1 per minute we were there, was worth every single penny.

Now I’m going to go sleep for a week.

Oh, one question - what was the body count?

That was fucking awesome! I had the best time, the roleplaying was fantastic. Thank you Anna, that’s twice that Masquerade made my night.

I have to second both Anna and Vanya. Incredible fun. Everyone’s costumes were gorgeous and the venue just MADE that game. I had so much fun. I’ve never been that evil before in my life. Although I do believe I have no blood directly on my own hands. :smiling_imp:

That was bloody amazing!
I had an awesome time, and I quite enjoyed being a priest. My years of religious education at school finally came in handy.

I managed to kill Benny Ratsley, Rex Solomon’s cats paw, with a double dose of poison, the first delivered via a poisoned mask, and the second in a glass of wine. The second dose because he looked a bit sick and was getting medical assistance, and I really didn’t want to take the chance that they might be able to fix him. He had it coming because he framed me for three murders 17 years ago.

I also stabbed Rex Solomon in the back. This wasn’t the grand and poetic death I had planned for him, however, my cover was blown so I wasn’t really expecting to see the sunrise anyway. At least I had turned his daughter against him. We (Bella, Lucy and I) believed incorrectly that I was her father, and she confronted her real father (Rex) with these accusations. Talk about spoiling the party! Hooray!

In the dying seconds of the game, I (Edward Beckett AKA Raoul Middleton AKA Howard Black AKA Oberon) died. The evil Christable Thomas took my knife off me when I attempted to kill her, and stabbed me in the throat. Damn those master duelests and their cunning tricks. And damn Lucy for making to 2-0. You’ll get yours one day, muhahaha!

I died for the most part betrayed and unavenged. Alexander Drake, the crooked lawyer who put me in prison, escaped unscathed, and dying at the hands of Christable Thomas, who had born false testimony against me all those years ago was bitter.

Still, it was a long list of people to get and 2/4 is better than nothing.

But the worst betrayal of all was Gretchen Klausen, the person who I thought of as my best friend. I had just discovered my one true love, Lucy Thomas AKA Tatania, was alive and we were in the process of reconciliation after 17 years of estrangement when Gretchen drugged me and in my befuddle state, married me.

I hope she died too.

EDIT: Oh, and thank you Anna. Fantastic characters and a great venue meant this was always going to be a good game. There were some exceptional costumes and some really excellent role playing.

Actually one of the spookiest parts off this game was that I received my character sheet at the last moment and I was playing a character who was a mask maker. I’d just spent the morning painting up spare masks for people. Weird…

Well, now I feel like I made an idiot of myself, and quite possibly did more harm than good. Yep, retiring to a monastery somewhere in France would be a good move for Father Geoffrey, I feel.

Nope, she did not, I just knocked her out. Would be unwise to kill her in front of the Chief of Police in those circumstances. Plus, if she’s dead she cannot suffer from losing you, and Christabel isn’t that nice to let her rival go unsuffering :smiling_imp:

Oh, thanks for that! Benny started talking too much, and I kept telling Rex we should get rid of the guy, but he was too busy at that time.

It is always my pleasure to roleplay with you, Derek bow. I am certainly looking forward to new encounters :smiling_imp:

To continue the body count: Charity, the prostitute sacrificed by the cultists, and the captain of the ship who died by the cultists’ hands in the same room trying to save her.
