You mean the wife of Bertilak de Hautdesert, whose name is not mentioned?
Yeah, but she and Morgan (who’s acting as the driver behind Sir Bertilak and his wife) totally have Sir Gawain wibbling in a bad place. I love the way the story sticks in some bits about slaying dragons almost as an afterthought, but when it gets to Sir Bertilak’s castle it goes into all this detail about manners and ‘luf-talking’ and how to behave properly. It’s very much a woman’s story, especially compared to Malory’s Boys Own Adventure version of the Arthurian legends.

For the ladies, the answer seems to be “huge ruffled bell dresses, shawls, and cute bonnets”. For the men, “tails, waist-coats, top-hats, and moustaches”.
Hoop skirts yay!! If I’m able to come, I can bring an extra one or two (I think I can borrow my cousin’s without her knowing).
I’ve seen the pictures of your amazing Victorian day dress. So awesome.
Is that what you’re planning to wear?
Thank you! And maybe, depending on the character. I’d like an excuse to make/obtain another one, though.

In my experience, a lot of LARPers (and not just the girls!) use “I’ve got a LARP coming up” as an excuse to come up with another outfit
Well, and, y’know, that dress was made for the 1840’s and is thus horribly out of style by 1851. I couldn’t possibly be seen in public in it…
