You can get lenses to compensate for astigmatism- they are a little more expensive than regular contacts though.
I just got some for my left eye and it’s the first time I’ve been able to see with it as well as my right eye for ages.
The Auckland Uni optometry clinic has fairly reasonable prices for lenses (I’m sure they don’t do novelty ones though), authough the appointments take a couple of hours cause you get to be a guinea pig for an optometry student.
for me it was all about the fancy evil type lenses for roleplay. i had astigmatism in my left eye too and although i’ve had eye surgery, I suspect I still don’t have the nice perfectly round eyeball that non-custom lenses are designed for, which means more irritation.
Actually, I haven’t worn any sort of lens since they stuck a scalpel in my eye… might be a bit on the ouchie side.
LOL, re being a newbie optometrist guinea pig.
