He’s not kidding, try stealing his beer
So essentially I would only kill in games if it involves criminal behavoiur against me. Or if they were really really evil (which seems to go hand in hand really). Had no issue staking vampires.
And its quite often a lot of fun to question captives anyways…
I.e."Quick, distract the paladin while I drag this Orc off & break his fingers…"
Not that I actually tortured anyone… but I think I did distract the Paladin once so someone else could.

Just out of interest, who would like to play the occasional game where they are the villains or anti-heroes? They’d essentially be like any other game except you’d be coming from the other side of the fence.
Its something that Knightshade is well set up for… I fully expect there to be some villains in my game… though I’d caution them against being outright PC killers because this will limit their careers in a terminal way.
I say this because PC’s treat other PC’s in a different way to NPC’s & it is essentially not fair for a PC to simply kill their entire party while their backs are turned.
But I occasionally expect a Void mage to bargain with the demon before betraying it for its secrets… I know, I would.
Anyone?
Or maybe more accurately, how would people like to play a game where they work for the other side. I tend to find that if you have evil players without a boss they just end up killing everyone.
It would be assumed you’d be the "employees’ of the big bad & actually not wanting to attract great attention to yourself.
There is potential for this in my regular games & infact I need some people of this ilk for the Chimera game but I’m talking about games specific to the Anti-Heroic players.
One thing though, for some reason, evil players tend to live short lives if they’re not careful…
Ill fall from Grace
Its not very far down for you Jamie…
Its not often i play baddies and as for theft Beggars dont deserve treasure anyway they dont have an army to maintain and knights to give magic swords to to defend the realm
I like playing villians
Hmm well I need some villains or at least selfish player characters for the Chimera game. So, once again, in a possibly inappropriate thread, any one who wants to give Knightshade a go at Chimera, please register your character with me or pick a pre-gen, give it a name & some background & guff and send it to me please.
Note: Villains should PM me with ideas please because there are some roles to be filled.
When i joined my first larp* i was playing a villain NPC. I found this idea, i mean first being an NPC - a rather good start for a beginner. You get your role, just a piece of the story so u don’t get lost in details, you meet other players, but can not screw up others’ game too much because being an NPC you are limited by the GM afterall… etc, etc…
Anyhoo
We (other applicants to the game and me, a.k.a villains) were placed @ one of the biggest cemeteries of the capital city* at night. Aye, it was vampire, all right. I had a great plan, climbing on top of an abandoned florist stand in front of the cemetery. As soon as the players arrived, i chose to attack a quite dark figure, he kept a little bit back from the other players. I was like ‘hi sweetpea, lost your flock?’ and jumped into his face. I don’t quite remember what happened, but i know one thing for sure: I died in the air. I did not even land on that son of a…
Long story short, i happened to chose to attack the Tremere primogen. Oh well…
After all this rather unlucky opening, i still believe that being a villain is super-cool. The game might not last too long, but still: its super-cool. LOL
Later on as I joined the game as PC, i was really careful not to kill any PC around me - I had OOC reasons for not doing so. Most of the players were playing their character more than 5 years already. If you become aware of little bits and pieces like this, being a villain is not that sweet anymore.
*Europe. I’m new to NZ larps
