Many of the recent LARPS in Auckland aren’t really fantasy in the D&D sense. Ravenholme and St Wolfgang’s Vampire Hunters are both set in real history, with some supernatural aspects added.
I tend to call them ‘quasi-historical’

In those sorts of larp I think it’s reasonable to ask what degree and type of historical “accuracy” is desirable.
Of course, everyone will have a different answer. And even if everyone agrees that they want high accuracy in a specific larp, there are special difficulties involved in trying to achieve consistent “historical” mannerisms in a larp:
But that’s not to say it can’t or shouldn’t be done. It’s harder than an anything-goes approach, but for some people the effort would probably be worth it.
