Auckland Regional AGM Announcement

Hi everyone,

We have a confirmed date and venue for the Auckland Regional AGM.

Meeting Time and Location

The AGM will be held on Monday the 4th of November, at Leicester Hall in Ellerslie.

It will start at 7pm.

Leicester Hall is located at 20 Findlay Street, just behind the Ellerslie shops. There is plenty of parking and it is easily accessible by bus. It’s the same location as the last regional AGM.

Please attend the AGM- it is important that we have quorum for the meeting, so we can vote in our new committee

Nominating People

Do you want to be on the committee, or do you want to nominate someone else to a role?

We encourage all NZLARPS members to consider standing for one of the positions on the committee:

  • Regional Director
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Marketing Officer
  • Gear Officer
  • General Officer (x2)

You can be nominated by others, and you can also self-nominate. Diatribe is an ideal place to register nominations. NB: You can stand for multiple positions if you wish (and pull out of subsequent elections once you secure a position).

Note that we may have a change to the constitution in place by the time of the Auckland RGM, removing the rule that you must have been a member for 2 months.

Therefore my suggestion is that we feel free to nominate anyone here, even if their membership isn’t up to date, on the assumption that the rule may change and that they can join the society before the RGM. If the rule doesn’t change, nominations for people who haven’t been a member for 2 months will simply be void. Additional nominations can be made in person at the RGM to cover any gaps.

Do the nominations on the previous thread still count, or we redoing them on this thread?

I would say that the existing nominations still stand, we just deferred the timing of the Regional AGM until after the National AGM.

Could we have a list of the current nomiations based on the other threads added to the first post?

Note we have a deadline for nominations, to allow for remote voting, this Monday 28th, 6pm.

It looks like it may have been missed, so I second Nikki and Allen for general officer.

If anyone has keys to the NZLarp trailer and /or to the gear shed, or any other padlock, then can please bring them to the RGM, so we can sort out which key is which, and who should have it.

Potential committee members, we will be settling on the on-going committee meeting days, so please bring your calendars. The first meeting will be during the week of 11-15th November. The existing committee members have said they will come to the first meeting for a smoother handover. This is likely to be on the Wednesday 12th, but we can negotiate this.

Just a reminder that the Auckland AGM is tonight.

Would be great if Auckland members can either attend or vote by email before 6pm. Instructions for voting by email are here.

The meeting is at 7pm at Leicester Hall, 20 Findlay Street, Ellerslie.

Note that registration of the amended constitution has been completed with the Societies Office, so the new rules apply. You only need to be a current member to be nominated for a position (the 2 month rule is gone), and you can vote electronically without giving a reason for not attending.
