Ashes on the wind

What the hell? That really really sucks. I put a lot of effort into props and costume for this larp… I havent heard or seen any problems about this larp other than the wolfgangs thing which was sorted out…

I’m not really happy about this… I would have liked to see some resolution and this game running as planned rather than a cancellation due to a dispute between you and (I’m assuming) people who aren’t even involved in the larp

Wow, what happened? You’ve been working on this for ages!

I actually have to agree, and I’m one of the culprits :S

This is a rather extreme reaction… perhaps actually talking to people properly about this (and actually sorting things out) would be something relatively worth pursuing?

I’m happy for anyone to use anything from Mordavia, whether they ask me or include a thank you or not. Rule mechanics can’t be copyrighted, it’s beneficial for the community for larps to be able to build on each other’s works, and saying thank you is a formality that I don’t care about one way or the other. Personally I don’t think permission for borrowing rules is something worth getting at all concerned about.

On the plus side people will be able to help move the gear now as they suddenly have time free that was booked up

For Those who have yet to hear (Should let David make the official announcement but The earlier people know, the better) Ashes on the Wind is back on this sunday. The game is going ahead despite everything that occurred

Oh and also, thats irrellevant because the game is on sunday and the gear move is on Saturday.

Given that NZLARPS exists to actively encourage larp development - and we can expect more larps to be created in the futre, perhaps we could look at having a formal list of larp rulesets that the writers are OK with being copied. We could indicate also not whether the writers want attribution in the derived ruleset.

Oh, I thought the gear move is on Sunday, but the shed take-down is on Saturday (which I can’t make, I’ll be away).

Ah ok, yes, turns out I misread, it is indeed this sunday

wouldn’t it be better to move the gear before / while the shed is dismantlement?

shed is mostly empty with most of the gear already in the trailer

The game was awesome, Costumes from the players were great and there were some nice characters all around (Firefly references aside hehe)

Well done to Heath on your first Larp, and a successful one at that and thanks to the crew and David, the other GM. The game was, although a little shorter than intended, definately fun and I shall be attending game two for sure
