20/20 are coming to Chimera!

Lol, I don’t think Astra and Simone look that old to be included in the mature group, but I’ll leave it up to your conscious

I thought this list of people has already been sorted, as Anna said in the first post here the camera is going to follow particular people around.

you could suggest a list by all means, but at the end of the day they will chose who they want to interview and what they want to present, and make the edit when it comes time to air the segment.
Ryans spot on.
Watch the intensity.

Theres a segment on tonights 20/20 about people in NZ that believe they’re vampires.
The promo segment has a guy say "Yes, I am a vampire"
Watch and learn how the fringe are dealt with and appear to general public.

hey thats prjudice! some pplez accutally r vampyres and ahve feeligns 2!1!!!

no im totes kidding, could you imagine? lol.

Thank you for everyone’s feedback, especially Ryan and his list, I’m probably going to be guilty of being really really excited so…I’ll try to curb that!

We’ve spent considerable time working with them, and getting them in touch with our picks from the community - as it says in the first post. Don’t think we didn’t think carefully about who we asked them to speak to, the last thing I want is the community represented in a bad light.

Guys, be yourselves this weekend. We’re all interesting, vibrant, normal people, that’s the main thing to get across. Be polite, think about what you say when speaking to the camera, don’t ham it up for the camera, don’t deliberately cause trouble.

Maturity isn’t just about age…

Thanks for the vote of confidence though Scotty. I’m not entirely sure it’s well placed… but thanks anyway

They had some gothic-type shots of the interviewees, and clips from vampire movies, but apart from that it was mostly letting talk about themselves and what it was like being the way they were. Although. There’s this guy who had hooks surgically installed into his back and has himself hung on hooks by them, as a proxy for flying. Owwwww.
I’d actually suggest that a few people are specifically chosen to present themselves for interviewing rather than let the crew pick ad hoc.
I’m one of the people that got asked to be interviewed, and they came round to tape me making costumes as background. The crew is friendly, they’ve done their research, and they’re not acting like they’re planning on taking the mickey when they get to the editing room. So I figure it should be fine.

their not surgically installed, there a temporary piercing for suspension.
also its the voice over chick who says they are for flying.
suspension is more about aesthetics and pain tolerance.

on another note, that guys is a total poser. gives goffiks a bad name.

20/20 came along to Chimera and by all appearances had a great time. They were lovely and friendly and very discrete. We even ended up talking to Hugh into actually playing in the Great Exhibition, and not only was he fantastic, he had a great time.

I hope nobody felt their weekend was unduly bothered by their presence.

I spoke to the producer several times, she seems lovely and had a good grasp of what it was about.

The 20/20 crew did seem on to it.
Friendly and keen.

Can’t wait to see the end product.

Any one know when it will air?

I was told that it would show in September or October… that was as best as they could say!
I was told that it would show in September or October… that was as best as they could say!
I was thinking it probably wouldn’t be before November…

I always felt a little sorry for the cameramen, since they couldn’t help but stand out like a sore thumb.

They told me they would email in the next week or two to let me know it will air. I will spread the word as soon as I know

We have a date! The piece will be airing on October 8th at 9:30pm.

Spread the word.

Okay, that was epic.
Great job giving them so many good sound clips Hamish.
And everyone else, great job portraying us decently well.

I am glad they actually read through the forum and realised their life would not be worth living if they aggrivated the trolls that reside on these forums.

BTW:

I won the hell pizza war - they gave me some vouchers and will leave the Doom pizza on the menu indefinatly - so if you ever want a Doom - just ask at the counter even if its not on the menu.

If you ever get declined - tell me which store and when so I can point out the breach in their parlay.

Have to say, I think one of the best bits is at the 12:40 mark.
