Best IC moments?

Postby No Rectangulars » Sun, 19 Aug, 2007 5:08 pm

I think my best IC moment would have to be going with the Brothers to meet the cultists, being attacked and cowering in the middle of the circle of sanctuary. They chanted solidly for at least half an hour till help came!

Actually, most of the stuff that happened at night in the woods was pretty awesome...

Talking of Brothers and chanting, falling asleep at about 2 on sunday morning to chanting, and awakening at about 7 to chanting blew my mind for sheer dedication.

The dirty, dirty premarital innuendo with the charming Pierre made the post wedding shenanigans pale in comparison.

The witch torture scene. I'm such a delicate wee soul that I tend to cry when the slightest mean thing is said to me, so to have these three nasty, nasty witches tearing into Alys brought the waterworks on like woah. That particular scene was pretty emotionally intense, but by far one of my favourites.
Thanks for coming and pulling off such a good rescue, guys.

The last scene was heartbreaking and wonderful all rolled into one big soggy lump.

The fact that I spent two points. On literature.

Yes.. finding your Dirty, Dirty in character porn collection had to be one of my more amusing finds of the game.. Especially when I got one of the Brothers to tell me what it meant, because I couldn't read it myself..

Would it count as IC moment running to the screams for help and bumping into the guys of that other roleplaying group? It was definitely one of the funniest moments for me. When I realised they were not our people I quickly pretended I was just passing by (yeah... a nun... with a sword...).

The sword, by the way, brought up questions from many people, but I pretended it's completely natural for a nun to carry a sword, so I didn't have to give any explanations

I also enjoyed playing together with father Dominic very much. That was cool.

I like how the penance was organized. It's quite normal to have players do some jobs helping NPCs but I never saw it organized so well and so much letting people stay in character.

Mass was very good too. I've been asking here on Diatribe some time ago if we would have mass, I'm glad we did. Brother Hubert was amazing :D

Good Sisters pay no heed to such Illustrations. It could have been Heretical acts of profanity with Demons, which is impure for one's virtue. *nods convincingly*

(That, and no-one mentioned there were pictures..) damn you Porl. XD

I start thinking there were moments in game I missed...

Just recalled another good moment: I ran to the screams in the forest not yet knowing there were witches there, but I couldn't find a proper way to them so just moved through the bushes and eventually found myself in front of a number of undead things some of which started moving toward me immediately. Unfortunately for them I had a whole bag of holy water bottles so I started splashing it on everything that moved with weird sounds  They died very nicely. Nevertheless, I got bewitched eventually.

 Oh, the number of 'penance' jokes going round semi-OOC after dinner on Saturday...
I think I've filled my life-quota of listening to priests talking about how hard/large/long their 'penance' was. :?

Repetitively trying to go to the chapel in the middle of the night during the ghoul attacks.

Dieing in prayer with the knowledge that I had no fear of the evil one, so that my soul was saved. This is probably the only game where death can be a victory in itself, as Father Dominic was taken to Heaven along with his fallen comrades.

Giving the last rites to a lone, still alive Lady Emmaline then leaving.

Carrying one of the pendants around all day before anyone even found out where they could find it. That's why I left Emmaline to die. I figured it was in the best interests of the Church as the Vikings clearly weren't interested in attacking me.

Getting put to the question, then using that my own advantage.

My first highlight was when I encountered the Viking hoard and fought a delaying retreat back towards the manor. Other soldiers of Christ started arriving in ones and twos until we eventually managed to form a line across the road and defeat them. It was nice to fight something that didn't throw nasty magic spells at me :D

Sallying into the crypt after crawling through the pitch black tunnels was fantastic, especially when I was beaten to the ground and the battle raged back and forwards over my body. Thanks to the people who ventured into the fray to try and heal me, but were beaten back time and again until I was eventually put to death.
A forum post should be like skirt. Long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to keep things interesting.

Yeah, going with the Brothers as their 'Guest' to a secret meeting with the evil witches was just plain scary. Chanting the words to sanctuary under my breath so I could start up nigh immediately in case they decided to betray me was slightly comforting however.

Also, the only damage I ever took was due to a sudden and near-terminal case of surprise Tigger. Twice.

There were so many awesome IC moments for me but two of my favourites were:

1) Walking alone in the woods back to the Manor when set upon by a hord of Vikings, I go into sanctuary until they grow tired of attacking an invisable forcefield and move further away. Then I stand up and question them and eventually get goaded into a one on one combat with the leader of the Vikings. He wins of course, but I made him work for it. - thanks by the way to the people who saved me from this situation.

2) At the last battle, I move out among the remaining vampires to try and heal some of my fallen comrads and the vampires let me save one before confronting em and saying that a life for a life is only fair and that I must now revive one of their fallen. I advise them that my pious powers will not work on the undead, but they tell me I must make an offering of blood. I refuse but beg them to let me go to my other comrads. Eventually they say, that if I give my word to give them my life and soul (as they would turn me into a vampire) thrn ALL of the fallen would be alowed to leave and spared. So I make this deal and pass my shield and last remaining stake to a friend (Eldric?) who looks at me and says "Wont you be needing these my lady?" to my back as I dissapeaar unarmed into the vampires to try and heal as many as I can. It was quite an emotional scne for me especially when so many of my comr5ads turned out to be already dead. - Bu once again thanks to everyone for defeating the vampires in time and saving my life and my soul :)

Its a miracle my character survived.
