Multiverse: Runes of Immanent Consequence @ Chimera 2009

Multiverse: Runes of Immanent Consequence will be run at Chimera this year. What I’d like to do is get a handle on who wants to play Law, who wants to play Chaos, and who wants to crew. I’ll tailor the exact mission objectives based around the distribution of Law/Chaos player preferences, so feel free to choose either aspect. First time players characters will be given precedence over existing players if demand for PC slots exceeds supply.

There will be two teams of PCs – one for Law, and one for Chaos. Although Multiverse charts the eternal struggle between the aspects of Law and Chaos, it doesn’t generally follow that adherents to opposing aspects attack each other on sight. It all depends on whether their interests are at odds or not - although it always pays to be on your guard…

If you want to play a PC, then you’ll need to let me know whether you would like to create your own character or whether you want me to generate one for you. The rules, character sheets and cardinal spells are here: http://www.nzlarps.org/multiverse/Rules.html. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or you can post in our diatribe forum. Existing PCs, please send an updated character sheet, thanks.

NB: If you are playing a spellcaster, you would normally have to learn spells in-game (except for the cardinal spells which you get for free). Because of time constraints at Chimera, I’ll be allowing all spell casters to have all Novice spells for all known Colleges when they start the game. I will supply all spell scrolls and power points at the event.

Non-spell casters, not to worry, there will be goodies for you too…

If you would like me to create a character for you, then I’ll need you to answer these questions:

1. Do you prefer to be a leader or one of the team ?
2. Do you want to play a mage (let me know if any particular colleges appeal) ?
3. In combat would you like to be:
a. In the front line, slugging it out ?
b. In the middle, attack when able, defending as needed ?
c. In a defence / support role ?
4. Do you have a preference for a particular race ? The default will be Human (so as to simplify costuming requirements)
5. What else do you think I should take into consideration ?
6. Which aspect do you wish to align with: Law or Chaos ?

You can PM me with your answers.

[Edit: Forgot to add an explicit Law/Chaos question]

Due to my uncle dying only about an hour before Chimera started, I was unable to attend any events apart from the Friday night. That meant I could not run Mulitverse on the Sunday, as tangi last for three days. Many thanks to everyone who selected Multiverse as a game of choice, I appreciate the support, and it certainly sounds that the emergency St Wolfgang's more than filled the gap.

I intend to run Runes of Immanent Consequence in the future. Because it is designed as a standalone game, it can slot in pretty much anywhere in the Multiverse timeline.

Is all good dude. Many people where sorry to hear about your Uncles death (or at least that seemed to be the general consensus), and as I've been told many a time, real life is a hell of a lot more important. Will be interesting to see when you do run the game...
Knightsade: Dudley McDougall - Drunken rouge of the realm, indentured servant of the great and glorious God-King...
Serenity: John Henry Scamandros - A man without a past, looking towards the future...
Chrono Continuim: Dr. Jak Cliche - To every question there must be an answer, no matter how crazy the answer may be.

You are more than welcome to run it at Chimera 2010, if you don't find an opportunity sooner :)
Chimera - New Zealand Larping Convention - Chimera 2011 accepting games! - chimera@nzlarps.org
St. Wolfgang's Vampire Hunters - Evil is defeated, Christendom saved. Thank you to all who were part of the campaign!

I'd definitely be interested. I struggled to pick between it and Evicting The Dragon. The only reason I picked Evicting was that I figured it might never happen again, but you'd probably do another Multiverse game at some point :P

Opportunity identified ! :) Well, it's not the Runes of Immanent Consequence - I'll play that at another time - but it is Multiverse.
