Jade Empire Daygame: Saturday 26th June: Kogarashi-Ta

Postby steelphoenix » Wed, 19 May, 2010 9:48 pm

Hi everyone, there's another Jade Empire game coming up!

Kogarashi-Ta
Date: 26 June
Time: 1200 (crew to arrive 1100, please)
Location: Outhwaite Park, 25 Carlton Gore Road, Grafton (http://www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/whatson ... arkId=1575)
Cost: $15 players, $5 crew

Kogarashi-Ta, the Tower of the Withering Wind, is one of many small outposts along the Jade Wall, near Shiro Meiyo (Honour Castle). Here in the rolling foothills of the Black Flower Hills, a force of Blacklanders disappeared over the Wall, losing their pursuers. Frustrated, the samurai camped by the outpost, accepting the hospitality of the commander.
But Kogarashi-Ta is not all that it seems...

There is a cost involved, but this is just to cover the cost of the hall and nibbles that will be provided. Let me know if you're coming, either on this thread, or at jadeempire@larp.co.nz.

A roleplaying thread is open in the Jade Empire Forums here, as wrapup for last game and establishing for the next game... special clues and details may turn up! Don't forget, to forum is open for everyone, even if you can't play in the LARP!

Xiexie,
Erin

Excellent!

Pics from one of the other games here

I may have a spare suit of armour (size = runt of litter) available for loan to someone, if it's their first game. (It'll cost a cheep bottle of sake to borrow, but it's pretty)

Your weapons look awesome in those photos Derek. Very real seeming - the bamboo is 100% convincing.

This reminds me that I stocked a couple of "Samurai" swords just in case Jade Empire players might be interested. You can see them on the in Stock - Swords page of the Paddywhack site, they're $109 and $99 for the long and mid length (basically katana and wakizashi), or $87.20 / $79.20 respectively with the 20% NZLARPS member discount. I did stock a Tanto as well to make a complete set, but it's already sold.

Thank's Ryan :D

The costuming for this game has been very good. Erin has a fantastic set of high quality costumes she's been lending people and I've made a pile of Oriental weapons to fill the gaps between what players already have and what is commercially available.

I'm enjoying playing a very different Asian / Samurai mindset as a character as well. I'm not normally really into Asian genre, but I have really been enjoying this game.

The long Samurai sword has just sold to a Jade Empire player, so now I only have the wakizashi-sized one left. At 86cm it's still a good length sword. $79.20 to NZLARPS members.

There is an indoor space being utilised for the game, so if it rains we should be okay. Admittedly, I'd prefer for at least some of the game to be outside, and hopefully the weather will oblige.
