Hi guys,

David (Aka, “Shetland”, AKA, Vruga), Anna Cruz, Sabine and I are going to be running a Western LARP (or two) out in Awhitu on 23/24 March.

Dates: Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th March. 2013
Times: TBD
Number of player spots: 14
Location: Awhitu Presbyterian Camp (pym.org.nz/2010/09/awhitu-presbyterian-camp/)
Cost: Will either be $35 ($30 for NZLARPS members) or $25 ($20 for NZLARPS members) - See information below.
Includes: Game, lodging, scrumptious Western-inspired meal on Saturday evening, tea and coffee throughout the weekend.
You bring: Costumes, bedding, snacks/food for other meals (and whiskey, pardner!)

The main game will be “The Train Will Whistle One Last Time” - a fantastic looking game that David & Anna Cruz have translated from French to English so we can run it here (no small job - this game is really detailed!). This is an 8 hour game that will be run late Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. This includes the IC dinner.

After the game, people are welcome to socialise 'round the fire and tell tall tales, play games, or otherwise enjoy each-other’s company in a beautiful part of New Zealand! Yeehaw!

We can also run “13 Angry Men with Guns” if people would like more than one LARP. This could be run Sunday AM before everyone heads home. If you’ve played that game before, don’t worry, we’ll have a way you can participate again.

Because the venue is a little far away, we thought two games might make the drive more worthwhile, but it does mean we need the camp for a little longer, hence the extra cost. So if you could let us know which option you’d prefer, that’ll help us immensely.

Thank you!

David, Anna, Jackie & Sabine

So keen, now where in hell on wheels is Awhitu?
I assume we are “in character” for the whole weekend ?

Click on the link to the venue for directions. About 1.5 hour drive. It’s on the other side of the Manukau harbour. It’s beuatiful out there.

And, Saturday PM after the game would be OOC, unless people wanted to continue/wrap up stuff from the LARP. It’ll be your evening to spend how you chose!

Think of it as an awesome overnight adventure with good company, with a larp or two as the main event - but not a full IC weekend (though if you wanna stay in Cowboy mode all weekend I’m sure no one will complain!)

Great - so it’s looking like more people would like 2 games in the weekend than one.

Stay tuned for the official call to register and casting information!

Any more news? Will there be an event posted? Or have i missed it?

No, you haven’t missed it, there will be a post soon!

This sounds brilliant
