We need a shortened name because no-one would want to write out the whole long-hand name on cheques… In any case, we’re already abbreviating to LARPS.
As far as the hyphen goes, I don’t care one way or the other. Which would be the most grammatically correct? (Reaches for his dictionary…)
I still like having the ‘New Zealand’ at the start of the full, official name so that we’re properly identified in any International setting - but in normal usage you’d just omit it, just as you would normally omit the ‘Incorporated’, leaving the ‘LARPS’.
I’ve already checked with the bank that we’d be able to cash cheques made out to ‘LARPS’ or ‘LARPS Inc’ as well as the full name, whatever it may end up as.
