Chimera 09 - Want to write a game?

We’re already looking ahead to Chimera 09, and are welcoming volunteers to write/run games.

If you have a game or game idea you want to run for Chimera 09, get in touch!

I have an idea - it will be set on a new type of large aeroplane, on its maiden voyage around the world. There will be several plots, largely involving in-flight meals and entertainment. The game itself will run for a full 24 hours for the first cycle, then a week later there will be a follow-up cycle to resolve the outstanding plotlines. Catering will be provided throughout the “flights” of course. During the week of “downtime” we can stage another seperate but related LARP set in London, with a super-realistic London set-piece. Players will be required to find certain locations for photos and collect items which will be known in-game as “souvenirs” in order to complete objectives.

All up it will cost each player around $3,500, and everyone will need passports as a prop.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Been thinking about New Bretonia… and Sierra suggested that I could run a game for Chimera '09.

Thoughts?

We, at my camp, have all decided that we would like to run something for Chimera 09, but there has been a plea for more blood and guts, or should that be more BLOOD AND GUTS. so, it might not be the best game to bring your best suit or rental to. I suppose it will be best outside, due to our losing of the key, and all the blood and guts.
But any way, off to do some writing.

Serenity is up for another run if people would like it.

Yay more Serenity!!

I’ll put my hand up for Knightshade. Everyone seems to want more that I’ve talked to.

Who knows what evil will stalk the Cloudy Isles (the current geographical settingof the game) in a years time?

I’d prefer not to be lined up against other fantasy larps again though or even have my own slot or be slated with larps that are unlikely to compete for players against.

20-30 player slots only or something like it.

All games (with the obvious exception of the Big Saturday Night) will probably have cap of around 20 people, and will have other games on in the timeslot. The whole point of a con is a smorgasboard of small games.

You have nothing to complain about Jared, Knightshade was overwhelmingly popular in the slot, and we had trouble filling both Tryst and Graduation Day which ran alongside it.

If you want more player spaces, more time and no “competition”, then perhaps running just an ordinary day game is what you’re after rather than a slot at Chimera. I am, as always, very happy to support a Knightshade game at Chimera, but we will expect you to conform to our requested format.

Been doing a bit of thinking - I’ll quite happily run a game for Chimera set in New Bretonia. Chimera is small enough that I can make sure that everything works smoothly with the game as well.

Thinking about 10-15 players.

However, if the main LARP is also Victorian Era, next time around might not be the best showcase for it… that said I’m still keen for Fruitbatting!

Heh I wasn’t being greedy Anna. :smiling_imp:

I’d just prefer if I didn’t interfere with other LARPs in the future and vice versa as it is potentially limiting on all sides.

I personally wish I’d had more time to participate… my choices would have been NMC, Serenity, Orcball and from feedback Ive heard or read Hindenburg.

Already have an 8-16 person Bad Dreams picked out.

Given how popular serenity is and how much time and the number of people want to devote to it, I’ll not be running too pretty to die at the next chimera, however i will be looking at a short game in its stead.

yummy.
